Muttation needs a rename; the original name suits him fine in terms of the pet design but it's not such a great name for a monstrous-looking pet who just wants a piece of candy! However, I can't think of any names I DO like. Thought I'd ask if any of you have ideas. Would prefer a unique name but it's not necessary.

you could always go with the name of a candy, e.g. Sweettart, Kitkat, etc. otherwise, maybe dulce, mousse, ambrosia, red velvet?

that being SAID, i really like his name as is, it's a nice like, contrast between how he presents/his name vs. his interests, it's cute imo!! ;v;

I agree with silas, I think the dichotomy between being monstrous vs. loving candy (something generally pink/colorful/inoffensive) with his name is really cool!

But you might try some of the following: Bonbon, confit (it's French so it's not pronounced how it sounds), confection, candied, honeyed, or saccharine

Not sure if you're still looking for a new name, but I took a look at Muttation and I immediately thought of Xocolatl, which is the Aztec word for chocolate! It's simultaneously strong, sweet, dark and seems to fit his personality and looks :)

Oh I like that! I do also kinda like him having a totally unrelated name because I think it's funny but if I do switch to a candy related name it'll prob be that

i think sweet tooth and saccharine could be fun options! you could fold in the sort of monstrous implications via like gluttony or sweetness as in manipulation?
