Apologies if this is listed somewhere already and Ive missed it but is there a way to know when Merana will be available to complete a quest and turn a pet hydrus? And if I do manage to get a quest, does the pet I want changed to that color need to be my active pet? thank you!

her appearances are random, but there is a ping group you can join to be notified if someone spots her on the map.

i don't remember for sure if she transforms your active pet or if you have to choose which pet to change, but to be safe i would set your active pet to the one you want to make hydrus before doing the quest just in case.
