I recently started playing so this might already be a thing and I didn't notice but! I think it would be fun if different pet species had different reactions to foods, toys, etc. For example, some species could be polite and quietly eat, others eat it whole. Maybe a pet could roast their food before eating it.

I say this because the default dialog felt very jokey ("I can't eat any more... Just kidding!") and insulted the food at times which felt incharacter for my first pet, a Charlie. It was charming and kind of funny... But then my next pet said the same things so I realized it was just the default text.

It could give species personalities and be fun to read.

Honestly, this is super cute. I kind of really like this idea!

I was just telling my boyfriend yesterday that the pet I made into a character based off of him didn’t like chocolate milkshakes. And then I was like “Wait, is it an individual pet thing or a species thing?” and I gave one to my other Tigrean, who said it was “Okay”. Which was a fun little experiment, but made me think about something like this. So it’s funny a suggestion for it comes up!

I think the reactions are just random, but I also do think this is a really adorable idea that could be fun to implement.

Even something like adding some new reactions to the pool would be a nice easy way to switch it up a bit and make the reactions less stale.

BUT adding some different random preferences to pets would be fun, but I would expect it would take a lot of work, since the preferences would have to be added AND foods will have to be tagged in some way so that the system can recognize the foods and give the appropriate reaction.

Some ideas for "preferences" if this does move forward

Sweet tooth - Loves sweets but will complain about vegetables Snob - Loves foods over rarity 90, complains about low rarity foods Health Nut - Loves fruits/veggies, complains about greasy food

But a simple version where every once in a while a pet species would have a snarky, sweet or otherwise personality appropriate comment would be fun. Or maybe base it on color instead, or both.

Here is maybe an example of something that could be fun: If you try to feed a bovyne a Bovyne Steak, you could get a text like "Ugh! How could you?!" and your bovyne's happiness level would go down to 0/10.
