There's just over a month until Masquerade but no suggestion thread yet, so I made one.

For those who don't know or need reminding, the holiday is about dancing, partying, wearing masks, and has a steampunk and cyberpunk theme. Since it takes place on Atebus, there can also be a space or rift theme.

I can't think of many ideas right now, I just wanted to make sure the staff had enough time to use people's ideas (I don't know how far in advance they start making the items for events). Although I would like it if we went back to having masks based on pets that don't have them yet, but I don't know if the artist who does those is still around. I'd also like to see more masks that are pushed up onto the head rather than over the eyes since we don't have many of those and some of us have suggested that before.

I'd like to see more leg and arm mods that resemble dancing poses.

Fancy hair dos that are half coming undone.

I’m just going to repost what I suggested last year, because simple, easy to use masks that match recent Menagerie items would still be great.

And masks that also match the sets, would also be nice.

Love to see some more ballroom style backgrounds. Maybe even a few libertine lounge ones too for when the dancing is too much ;)

I have been loving Beyonce's new collection with Balmain and it would be so cool to see some of that Avant Garde insanity translated into Masquerade items!

Also Chatelaines! I'm actually really surprised we haven't had chatelaines before for masq! They can be both historical with scissors, purses and tools and cyberpunky with glow sticks and techy jazz.

Ok, final suggestions- dresses and suits that look like stained glass windows. This would be amazing to see. Like gothic arched windows into the skirts of ballgowns, and suits with the top half being adorned like rose windows and the sleeves and pants done like the stone framed skinny side windows (or something, idk suits are tough).

More goggles. In lots of colors, and pushed up onto the forehead. Lenses with fun designs in 'em.

also, idk if this is too uncharacteristic of the holiday, but i always want classic cybergoth-inspired stuff. neon greens, biohazard symbols, and all that. it's just so dorky that it circles back around into being cool as hell ^^

Oh, I have an idea. How about arms holding masks, as if the avatar has taken it off, to go with the reveal aspect of the holiday. And I don't just mean holding them by the side, I mean the arms being in positions that are holding the mask in a more dramatic way or something. Or maybe in the middle of removing it, so it's just a bit in front of the face.

We really need more sneakers, especially more platform sneakers!

If any artists see this and feel inspired, think thicc. Wide and chunky sneakers and platforms look much more balanced on HA's (and in real life imo) than anything narrow and sleek.

alright guys bear with me, but some more 1920s inspired wearables would be so cute. some body mods with different poses like flap dancing or jazz hands lol. also a cool dingy bar like prohibition style for a background, with some barrels in the background for one. for another maybe a stage in the background for jazz performances. feeling this heavy.

~ Opened-up robot casings: having little "doors" open showing the insides of a robot, something like this but with steamworks inside

~ pieces of "cracked" skin showing the same steamwork insides, maybe microchips and modern technology too?

~ additional robot/mecha limbs would be cool too, in dynamic poses like

~ more ballroom and "crowded" backgrounds, or just foreground crowds to layer over other BGs

I'd like to see backgrounds for ballroom and lounge as well.

Putting in my agreement with the requests for masks being held or worn on top of the head, basic masks that match previously used colors both neon and muted, and jackets etc to go with the Latex Skirt line!! Maybe white/silver options in general for the futuristic items? I love the idea of more things that are bright, shiny, and retrofuture looking.
