Just as the title says!
Most of my pet profiles are going to be profiles for OCs, and most of them will be dialogue heavy, but I've always struggled with adding dialogue to a story without having it blend in with the story text on profiles.
I've not really settled on a method I consider the best. Usually what I do is center the dialogue and keep the story left aligned. I've seen changing the color of the text of the dialogue, too, but I'm not quite sure the best way to do that ðŸ«
Is there a different method you use? Do you have a method you consider your bread and butter? Or do you just keep everything together?
I've seen bold being used for the speaking but when the story is space right the dialog pops enough with the " quotes.

normally i dont actually format dialogue out; i'm happy with just using normal paragraphing unless it's a very specific case (i.e. like imitating a text message format). i just feel like being able to weave dialogue in with the sort of exposition/observational parts of storytelling enriches the overall writing.
Same, I don't format it out unless I specifically want to highlight something as an individual quote. But even then, it will be at most one single line that more sets the vibe of the piece, and then only at the start of the story. In general, if I'm writing with dialogue I want it to flow with the rest of the story like I would have it in a short story or a general fic, so specifically formatting it out doesn't really work for me.
I've seen people bold the dialogue, which is certainly eye-catching, but in my personal opinion not overtly necessary if you're following good paragraph breaking and line spacing.
sorry to reply to a weeks old thread BUT i definitely second bolding or even italicizing the dialogue. HOWEVER, if you REALLY want it to pop you can do that + change the color of the text via css/html, preferably to something matchy with the rest of the profile but still stands out among the regular text :0
banner by It must be more of a "me" type of preference or issue then-- stories in documents are fine for me but I dunno! Something about pet profiles with all my super long stories just makes me feel like I get lost in the text too easy so I'm afraid everyone else who reads them will, too. Maybe I need to change the size of the text to make it less fatiguing on my own eyes 🤔
more of a side note than relevant to the thread but I adore Prophet's story & formatting, really love the cryptic vibes!
