The news post announcing Survival stated “Survival will end at 11:59pm on March 8.” In the past, it has started earlier in February and ended at the end of February, not even going into March at all.

It ended exactly when it was scheduled to end, as announced at the start.

I think it would lose its charm and wouldn’t be as special if it were available all year around, or longer than the 15 or so days that the holiday is scheduled for, so I have to say that I strongly disagree with this suggestion.

Luckily, when you unlock a strain, it stays in your wardrobe for good. So if you really miss it, you can wear one of the strains you unlocked all year to remind you of it until it comes back again next year.

If you miss it that's a good sign, as there's a thin line between "I want more" and "I can't stand this anymore. Burn and bury it please". I love bitting people, seeing my strain progress and getting angry when it takes too long between steps but over a month of that would drive me crazy, and would quickly make Survival tiresome and pointless. In two weeks I was able to catch up to 13 years of impulse buying L'amour Parlour items and unlock 8 skins. If a holiday lasts too long it stops being challeging and consequently, exciting; people become less engaged because they have already reached their goals or they have all the time in the world to do so.

Even worse, longer holidays means shorter, even no break between them. "Bringing value to your customer every 2 weeks :D" sounds super nice and utopic on paper but it actually overwhelms most of them as they feel they can never really take a break and Subeta isn't that sort of FOMO-ridding game.

I'm all in for occasional events, plots etc. inbetween the usual stuff from time to time but nonstop, longass regular holidays? No thank you. Two weeks is the perfect balance between having enough time and not having too much time.

Masquerade used to happen in March, so there's never really been an opportunity for Survival to run that long.

Even though they've got the event schedule a little more spread out now, I still feel like dragging the events on too long would just burn people out (especially for folks who run popular threads like NVLB or strain tracking). In the past when there have been shorter pauses between events, the busier part of the year was sometimes tiring/overwhelming as well.
