...nobody responds on your forum posts? You get warned when you try to bump them.
The forums around here these days don't move very quickly, so if you aren't getting a response its not that threads are getting "lost in the noise" its generally a lack of interest which means bumping (even it were allowed) wouldn't help anyway.
What to do depends on the post really.
Some examples: If its in Questions & Answers, its usually because no one knows the answer, bumping would not help in that case. I would submit a ticket to ask staff directly.
If its in an advertising thread, either no one wants it, or no one has it, and there are instructions in the Topic pruning: deleting Advertising threads six months old without replies and the rules of that specific forum.
If its in the bug forum - it usually means no one else has noticed it (or maybe been bothered by it), but in any case staff will read it and decide if it needs to be handled, so bumping a topic would not help. Staff do a very good job of monitoring the bug forum, even if they don't respond or do anything about a bug immediately.
If its in a suggestion or feedback topic, then its usually a lack of interest, and bumping isn't going to make it suddenly interesting. People will generally respond to good or bad suggestions. Middling suggestions - stuff people will just shrug about, don't generate a lot of response.

It seems like literally no petsites have active forums. Neopets is dying with Jumpstart being the owner and doing absolutely nothing except adding new paid items, Marapets, while not dying, has somewhat inactive forums so I tried Subeta only to be met with... this?
yeah, because most people don't use forums or petsites anymore. there's just a few of us still hanging around. it's just the way it is. i know there are others like flightrising, lioden, dappervolk, furvilla... but idk how active they are these days.
Most of the activity I've seen these days are in private group forums (there are a ton of reasons for this), some of which are very active.
Other than that, I think there may be a fair bit of activity in off-site forums like Discord, but I don't know much about that personally.
Unfortunately I don't know how to get involved in these locations. For a while I had a very active private group, but then Subeta killed it in their effort to make the public forums more active (which didn't work...but oh well).

Oh, that one. The moderation over there went absolutely haywire and muted my account multiple times just because I didn't want to contact their support. The final straw was when I was trying to delete my account, but support intentionally kept sending me incredibly vague responses and nonsensical requirements ("send the EXACT CLAUSE from GDPR which we should use to delete your account") and when I asked the forums to clarify why won't they just delete my account, they slapped me with a 5-day mute and a final warning. So I randomized my password and never went there again.
And appealing those mutes? You wish. When you contact support trying to appeal, all that they do is send you a list of your account's logs and say "appeal denied"...
Subeta's forum activity varies on the time of year but since the Discord went live, it's dwindled. I'd recommend checking the forums for: Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day, early spring around Easter and during the summer, plus around Halloween.
There's typically massive events centered around these times and the forum activity spikes around them.
As for the "Oh crap, you bumped a thing," I don't think you can actually do that (but I've never tried) but Subeta - typically - isn't "OH CRAP YOU BUMPED A THING WARN WARN WARN" either. Most advertising boards for selling Subeta items are that, once it reaches the 3rd page, you can make a new topic as the original is "old enough" to be considered inactive.
There's a few forum groups that are elitist very selective in their membership and are typically active year 'round but that's if you want to go that route.
I don't know if that helps any of your issues but hey, I've been here for over 13 years, I wouldn't have stuck around if there wasn't something appealing once in a while.

I go to the discord with my questions now... unfortunately for the people there! haha. Just kidding, they are happy to help.
It is very rare since you can't actually double post unless you make one an admin post and then post regularly or delete posts in-between which most cannot do. However if someone literally just posts "bump" without anything additional then yes it usually gets flagged. In S&I you may get redirected to post on another current board, just post you agree or copy and paste the post you made on the board that got locked and you're golden. In Advertising or wanted, post you are still looking to buy/sell whatever. Or that you added new things .etc. just don't post only "bump"
As an aside yeah with discord forums got slower. They do ramp up around general subeta holidays especially the holiday specific boards. We also just have so many forums too.
I knew that. I meant that you and the other mods don't seem to hop on and start warning people for bumping immediately... that I know of.

I usually don't join Discords unless I'm 100% sure that its toxicity is minimal, as I've already hit the wall many times when joining discords for services I used. The last one I joined was filled with trolls, flamebaiters, downright toxic people and under 13 children that posted the most unfunny memes you can find on the internet and spammed them until they became extremely annoying.
