I am almost positive it's been recommended before, but amidst the myriad of posts, I cannot find a topic similar to mine. IF this is a duplicate, please link to the OP on the topic and I'll have this locked.

Ok my suggestion: I was wondering if there's a way the programmers can program shops/galleries to sort/toggle by other identifications rather than by alphabetical only.... and this is in VIEW mode, not in EDIT mode. I don't like how my items are scattered when I would like 'like' items to be grouped together.... for instance, I have a rock gallery. I have a Geode category in said gallery. However, the geodes in this category are scattered by alphabet. I'd like for similar items to be grouped together, and the closest identification I can think of that would accomplish this would be to group by ID number. Being able to do this would help me keep track of exactly what I have and what I need instead of having to search to see if I have it... and this also is helpful in case you don't know the full name of the item you DON'T have that you want to add to your gallery (it's the little things that add up), and this is especially if you have a lot in your shop/gallery categories. I'm thinking of convenience factor here..... I don't know all involved in programming this, since I am not a programmer, just an eager observer! :D So yah, I'm sure it's been suggested before..... but in case it hasn't been recently, here's a refresher. Again, if there is already a topic on the subject, please post link if you wish and I'll have this one locked.

For sorting by ID, that feature actually exists already. If you go into your gallery and click on "Edit gallery", there is an option "Item Display Order" which you can change to be Item ID. You can't change it in shops from what I can see though, I'm not sure why. But galleries you can reorder.

Other sorts like we have in the inventory/vaults/item directory would be neat, not sure I would use them but they could be useful for some galleries. Like stack size, rarity, item use/type.

We have manual sorting with categories, but I never liked how you have to click through to every single one to see the items and how it leaves the main gallery page empty if you categorize everything, so I don't use them. If we could select a view that shows all the categories as titles/headers on the main gallery page with the items underneath I would like that a lot, then you could give a lot of context to the various gallery items too (e.g. "Books about rocks" or "Only shows that it is a rock in the description", "My favorite rocks" and so on). And if a category has too many items, only show the first 20 or something. Complete manual sorting of each individual item could be an option too.. since we already have that functionality for pet treasures.

I don't think I see what you see.... I'm on view gallery mode and I don't see how to sort them by other identifications..... only when I'm in edit mode can I sort. I want to be able to sort when in VIEW mode. As tho I'm looking at my shop from the outside. When I do try to sort by ID in edit mode, it does not change the layout order when in view mode. It stays the same.

This changes the sort both on the "Edit items" page and in "View gallery" page.
