apologies if this isn't the right place for this post, but it didn't really feel fitting in the problems & bugs category to me
anyways, i'm curious if anyone else has this issue. in general lately i've been noticing higher-than-normal CPU temps on my computer, so i'm trying to separate what's normal vs something to dig into. i don't do a whole lot on the site, but i've repeatedly noticed my CPU hitting up to 90C while doing my quests. i've made sure that i have nothing else demanding running that might be just causing me to notice a coincidence, but it still happens. it's just weird to me because that's way hotter than what most video games make my CPU!
for reference, i do have a gaming laptop so they do on average run hotter than an actual desktop, but obviously this isn't explained by that alone. oh, and i'm using firefox if that makes a difference
it might be some memory leak, or an extension issue-- have you tried using firefox on safe mode to eliminate anything like that? firefox is pretty demanding on cpu as it is (not compared to chrome), so i dont think it's a subeta issue persay, but i could be wrong!
ohh, i didn't realize safe mode was a thing so i will have to try that out tomorrow (unfortunately already in bed). i feel like it could be a memory leak because i've noticed when i open my task manager that firefox is eating up a lot of memory, but to be honest i'm not really sure enough in the little tech skills i have to know what to do about that (or that a memory leak was even a thing lol). thank you for the advice!
here's a tutorial for starting up firefox in safemode to eliminate if its any extensions, since firefox comes with a lot of built in things that mess around with some websites (though i use firefox and i have no memory issues on subeta) but it doesnt hurt to try!
you could also try clearing your cache to see if clearing some baggage lightens the load of your browser!
it might also just be an issue with the laptop itself, run drivers ect ect see if everything is up, make sure things are well ventilated and all that jazz!
