yo!! so there's this art site i've been on for a while now and really enjoy and figured i'd advertise!! it's called buzzly art ' v ' rn it's invite only but i do have some 3-4 invites sitting around, so if anyone's interested feel free to hmu!
it has this oldschool deviantart feel to it (profile customisation!!) which gets the nostalgia going lmao and the community's really sweet! def on the small side though and things move kind of slowly. but there's no algorithm or ai nonsense so i think that's pretty swell ヽ(*・ω・)ノ the devs are also actively working on new features and improving the site which i think is really cool!!
man, i was really excited about this website for a while, checking back in every other day to see if registration opened... until the two owners outed themselves as a couple of incompetent manchildren lol. no use jumping from sinking ship to sinking ship so i just kinda throw my art into the tumblr void, which is very hit or miss u_u
it's sad, it feels like there'll never be a decent deviantart replacement... i suppose there's artstation, but i'm not really a fan of the layout. it feels... unfriendly, i guess? idk. rip old deviantart o7
✨
Yeah I am having trouble finding a decent site for art as well. Twitter and Instagram are getting useless to be on, since no ever engages anything you post, unless it's a meme :?
I'm already a member, I signed up early while they were sending people ads around DA and getting banned for it lol I love the site so much, mostly for its profiles though it's great how easy it is to upload to, too. I did my own code and I adore the vibe my page has. The site's still fairly quiet though, very little interaction even compared to modern DA. It is also mostly furry stuff since even the founders are furries, but there is space enough for other kinds of art unlike FA.
That said, Buzzly turned invite-only? Shows how much I actually read their news, when did that happen? And where do you see your invites? I don't know if I would have collected any.
I have an account there but I've never used it. I forgot about it, actually. I'll have to try submitting some things and see how it goes.
And I'm gonna throw another comparison in the mix here - CGSociety's a mess. I would outright recommend not using it. Last I looked a couple months back maybe, it was overrun with spam bots and had no community interaction.
How actually does the Tumblr thing work out for people? That seems like an extremely competitive place, and beyond that sometimes I swear search just doesn't even work for me.
