I can vaguely remember something where only posts in certain Forum Sections 'count' towards your post count / any achievements. Is there a list of which ones do not count?

Making new threads does not count, on any forum. Otherwise I think that everything counts now. There definitely was a time where some didn't count, like the welcome forum. But I just posted there to check and it counted (though it took a while to add it).

Forum points are not awarded when you post to group forums, but your post count does go up.
