Not sure if this has already been suggested. I was guided to post here...

In light of recent, unfortunate events... I'd like to suggest a change/update to the location or appearance of the CSC offered when looking at offers made in trades. Right now they are too close in their location and appearance ... in excitement, haste, whatever... it is too easy, as several of us can attest to, to accidentally accept an sP bid instead of CSC . I would like to suggest a change in location, possibly color, maybe a bigger font or even a small graphic or picture of cash/CSC card. Just... something... Thank you for your time.

This is a problem that could, in my opinion, be pretty easily fixed with changing the appearance of CSC offers. As I mentioned in another thread: an easy solution would be to change the color of the font, or slap an emoji (like maybe 💳?) next to the amount. It'd at least add an extra layer of certainty when reviewing offers!

For example: sP:

7,000,000 sP

CSC:

7,000,000 CSC

Or, alternatively, if changing the color might not work as well for users who might have colorblindness:

CSC:

💳7,000,000 CSC

In either case, I know I'd be able to tell at a glance that the currency used is different.

Yeah I support both a change in font color and a graphic/icon if possible.

Great point, and thank you for mentioning the need for screen reader support! I don't have experience with screen readers; do they describe emoji? (not specifically a question directed at you, just wondering aloud.) And maybe it would be more clear for screen readers if there was a separating word between the currencies offered, e.g.:

Offer: 2,000,000 sP AND 💳 2,000,000 CSC

Visually it also adds another degree of separation and clarity. Trade offers might already look a little like this but I don't remember.

They do describe emoji! It's a good question and most do.

Technically, all images online should have some form of alternative text (i.e. the little toolbar/toolbox that pops up on hover) describing the image you've hovered over. Like for instance, your HA would have a description of (roughly) being a skeletal being with winged on a red lava background.

I try to keep on top of accessibility aids like that because of my own vision problems and add that what might work for mine may not work 100% for others.

I had a trade item listed and had what I originally thought was 2,000 CSC offered. I checked the going rate in sP for the CSC, went back to trades, and thankfully caught it saying "2,000 sP" before hitting accept, but adding in the 💳 icon would make it much easier to tell at first glance for both the sellers and the buyer (I can't be certain if it was an innocent mistake on the potential buyer's part, or if it was done intentionally in the hope I'd slip up and just accept)

It's not a bad idea, but I also don't think it probably ends up helping as much as you think it might, since they are basically taking advantage of change blindness.

So lets say you used one of the layouts where CSC is bright yellow.

The trades get clicked on infrequently enough that I'm not sure that people wouldn't still get hit by the change blindness of seeing 500sP instead of 500 CSC in gold.

Potentially a better solution would be to not let people transact less than 50K sP in trades. then people could never make a scam offer to begin with, and your probably not preventing any legit trades.

Kind of reviving an older board... but had another thought...

The ability to block sP offers when requesting CSC. <<< Maybe along the lines of checking a box that says something to the effect of "Not accepting sP offers." Then the person offering either doesn't have an sP box to fill out or they get a message if they do offer it... like an error message.
