Hello. As title.
I know that through reading books you can get AP, and at the mean time the int goes up. Is there a maximum or recommended level or AP for a battle pet?
Like in Neopets, you usaully only want the int to be some points, and that you can use some weapons. The more is useless. What about here? I am quite new to the battle on Subeta, so any suggestion is welcome.
Mostly I'm asking for my pets Skyfire and Mercenary S: Tier 3 (998 / 1200), Int 967; AP=60 M: Tier 4 (1767 / 1800). Int 600; AP=37
Should I read M. more books, or just train S. up all the way? Now all of my expensive books go to S., and they are both under training.
Thank you so much!!!
On subeta for int/AP it's usually that more is always better, because there are some scrolls where you can use as many as possible of them to chain freeze (e.g. with Shriek of Despair scrolls which will usually become more plentiful in October because a Halloween challenger drops them) or chain bomb (e.g. with Morosbane scrolls) for example. There are also some really high AP scrolls like The Void which are 50 AP to equip just one! But it's up to you, most pets will do alright with somewhere around 100-200 AP, my T12 pet is at about 150 AP and can beat about 95% of challengers.
A lot of people will focus the majority of books on their main battle pet and only read cheaper books to their other battlers because past a certain cost of book it's cheaper to gain intel from boosters instead. Intel boosters will usually average out to costing about 800k-1.1mill per intel (depending on the market), with the most popular/versatile being tomes (e.g Tome of Darkness, Death, etc) which give 1-3 intel plus 1-3 of all the other stats, so books that cost a lot more than 1mill aren't going to be as worth it in the long run (but it's all up to personal preference of course). The T12 pet I mentioned above for example only has 920 books read but over 2470 intelligence because all the rest came from boosters!
For now it sounds like S. will be best to focus on for intel if they're your main battle pet, but if you happen get moderately cheap books from questing/buying from shops and S. has already read them it won't hurt to chuck them onto M. because more is generally going to be better!
Get your intel as high as your willing to spend your sP on. You'll hit a point where you don't really -need- more AP to beat all the opponents but more will always make it easier if you plan on getting as many wins as possible for the extra tokens / drops :).
I think you should get as much intel as you need to be able to equip decent healing scrolls to your pet.

AP is only useful if you have the scrolls to use it. A lot of the better scrolls will take up 15-18 AP each, the most expensive takes up 50AP. Keep that in mind when building your set. You definitely want to have at least enough AP to use all your scrolls. I've found that having around 300-350 AP is more than enough with the right scrolls to beat all challengers with a capped pet and to farm opponents.
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I never knew that intel boosts cost around 1 mil. I mean, I am one of those who would spend millions on a book for my pet to read. It's good to know that I could gain int with a cheaper way. Thankfully, 150 AP doesn't sound so unachievable... yet still a long way to go. Thanks again! :)
Hello. Yes I can see the benefits with higher AP. Thank you for your reponses! :D
Thank you. 50AP per scroll sounds OK. So there isn't any scroll which needs more AP?
