I've added the image you can see in my signature to the right, however, even after saving it as a png and jpeg, both with transparent backgrounds, it still shows up from imgur with a white background. Does anyone have any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance!
(I've also read imgur will automatically save the image with a white background as a jpeg if it's larger than 1mb, but I hate to downsize and ruin the quality. So perhaps another uploading site might work? I have no idea lol)
That's very strange, I don't use imgur so may not be able to help there. Although opening the image, it is 4400x4400px, so perhaps it's too large? Resizing in a program like Photoshop to the correct size for the forum image might give you better results, especially in image sharpness. I find that resizing via code or image hosting results in fuzzier images.
Also: Have you considered using discord for image hosting? You can create your own free server and store everything on there very easily :>
I don't have photoshop because of the subscription sadly, I do have procreate though. I'm not sure if resizing in procreate is near as good as photoshop though :(
I do have a discord though for pictures. Do you mean if I upload it to discord I can save it again from there and it will be resized properly? Or do you mean I can use a discord link to upload it to the sight with a transparent background? Sorry lol Not sure I understand entirely what you mean about the discord part :)
I'm happy to resize it for you if you need, although I imagine procreate is just as good as photoshop, as are many art programs now.
So if you upload it to discord, then "open original", it will open the url of the image in your browser, which you can then use as your forum image. Discord is basically being used as your personal image hosting server. visual example.
Oh yay! The discord option worked perfectly! :D I had no idea you could do that! Thank you so much lol that saves me the trouble of trying to resize it and messing with the quality of it! I'm so excited to know I can do that now lol
