Heyy

I've just returned from a long hiatus, so I'm new to this whole "Legacy Name" thing.

I just changed my pet's name and went to the pool to cleanse their legacy name. I'm getting a lot of warnings that this can't be reversed, so it has me wondering... Is this important?

Am I correct in thinking the legacy name is just a way to show the pet's original name on their profile? I don't really care for their original name, so wonder if there's any backlash to removing the legacy name. If it just removes the original name from their profile, then I'm gonna go ahead and cleanse them lol. I'm just worried this is a serious offense, since I got so many warnings xD

Thanks in advance!!

Yeah, all it does is permanently remove the legacy name from the pet. If you don't care about the legacy name, there's nothing wrong with doing it (I cleared them from all my pets, even ones whose "legacy" names are still their current names). The reason for all the warnings is just because it's 100% permanent and there's no way to reverse it if you change your mind

Ohh I see, awesome, thanks!

I also just adopted a pet "Chubbi" and was surprised to see that pet already exists.. Are there allowed to be multiple pets with the same name now? Is the "Legacy Name" just sort of like a verification to say your pet is the original?

Basically, yeah. The legacy name means your pet had that specific name at the time that names became no longer unique, and yep, pet names are no longer unique so multiple pets can have the same name now c:
