I keep wanting to make my avatar my prime kidcore aesthestic, but my backgrounds never works properly... and it's with every single backdrop! Is there a way I can change it? 😤

Hey there, what do you mean by the backdrops don't work properly?

it covers up my whole avatar, you know? I'm not quite sure to explain it since I'm trying to get into my wardrobe goals and make seasonal outfits

Click and hold the backdrop item then drag it down to below the Base layer, it will move the backdrop to behind your avatar.

I'm going to hijack this thread to rant a bit! 😤 Most of the time I just can't use backgrounds since I tend to use body mods AND full body overlays, which means that the limb toggle options in the Base tab can't fix anything. I'm limited to using whiteout pens and minimal backgrounds like halos. I wish there was a feature against this but I myself don't know what could work.

If you use CW body overlays (or are willing to) has some that will work with various types of body mods: link

Aside from that, you might want to try looking through the foreground and ground layers in the wardrobe as well for partial background-type items. Something like or layered over your whiteout pen/body overlay but under your leg mod would give you at least a partial background and there are some various items you could add for decoration with an item like that like

+ recolors could give you some color over the Whiteout so it's at least not a plain white background (but might affect the coloring of the HA itself, depending on what you need to layer it over)

There are some sky items like to fill in some of the space instead of or in addition to a ground layer item.

The layering might still be kinda tricky with some items (for example, the Fir Cross Section would work best with both leg AND arm mods or at least a large jacket/cloak of some sort since it comes up so high behind the HA) so you might have to play around a bit, but there have been more of these kinds of items released recently and at least some should work for you c:
