Hi folks! It's the middle of 2022 and I'm feeling nostalgic for the heyday of Subeta, back when creativity was flourishing and the pet community was super active. I'm curious to know - how many pet people are still out there? Still active, or perhaps not actively playing, either is fine with me; I just want to hear from you, whether you used to passionately work on your pets, or if you still work on your pets to this day. You're also welcome to introduce yourself to the pet community here if you're new to Subeta!

What's the point of this thread, you ask? To be honest... I want to prove that there's still a healthy amount of pet people on Subeta. I want to rally those of us who are still here into working on our pets again. I want to try and revitalize this community, if at all possible, because I miss interacting with likeminded people and learning about people's characters!

I've been playing Subeta for: I started in 2006 but then took like an 11 year gap around 2011 and just got back recently. I regret so much taking such a long break but I thought my account was lost forever and didn't want to start over. Lo and behold, it still exists with all my babies!!

My favorite pet species is: Popoko! There are just so darn cute! However I try not to have duplicate species, so I only have one. My goal someday is to have one of each species.

My favorite thing to do with pets is: Building their personalities and stories. And doing overlays for them. I'm really slow but I love finding an item that will be perfect for the TC or randomly getting a story idea for them and jotting it down. I am also having SO much fun doing custom overlays.

I feel the site is dying, but becomes very active when there's events/Holiday events. The site is still holding up. I've spent so much money here, that I'd be very upset if the site died. If it happens to go in the future, it is what it is.

There's presently 116 users on and that's worrisome.

The site was popping 11 years ago. The forums were busy, there were A LOT of site events and stuff going on. Collecting Lumi gifts used to be between 2-4 items. The last 5 years.. the site has been dwindling. The forums are dead. The stuff we get from Lumi today is meh. No site events, etc.

I've been playing for 16 years and I've seen the changes in the user count.

Ah I love this c: I've been around since 2010? 2009? Coding my pets' pages used to be one of my favorite things to do around here, so when I came back from hiatus I immediately started reworking their species etc and relearning some super basic CSS.

My favorite pet species is all over the place, and depends heavily on color. I'm a huge fan of glacier, graveyard, and rift pets. I think some of the experiments are super cool too. Nothing too cutesy, I like creepy/weird/dark ones the best! My favorite thing to do with pets is.. also all over the place, lol! One pet battles & reads, one pet eats all the things, I love collecting things for TCs, coding of course, writing stories, etc. I'm proud of all of my pets, especially since I code all my own profiles, but here's a few of them.

Hi! I do consider myself a "pet person" but I'm not the typical one, in that I have never had any ambition to win a pet spotlight or really flesh out any characters and write novels about them. My goal is to give all my pets a presentable enough basic custom profile but I don't do or commission fancy coding, I just use free templates and images. Still, my pets mean a lot to me and I like to spoil them in my own way. Some of them represent characters or people who are important to me personally even though I have no intention of sharing their stories. My most beloved characters pretty much just live in my head but I enjoy having pets based on them so I can spoil them. In any case, I do have 81 pets and more slots I intend to fill so I think that alone qualifies me as a pet person!

I always get excited when I get an idea for a new pet. It usually involves a big treasure hunt to fill the TC with appropriate items, which is fun but always ends up getting way more expensive than I anticipate. My most recent addition is

Lol yeah some of the animated items are really subtle. A few of them I had to really stare at to be sure it wasn't just my eyes being weird.

Pets have always been, and remain, my favorite part of the site. I work on them a lot more passively these days compared to before my big hiatus, but I still chip away at things slowly. Honestly miss making profiles for people these days too. Was so fun to help others see their creative vision with their pets, because there was only so many I could do for myself. :P
