Can new people still get the challengers by going down the nature trail?

I'm not sure...but it can't hurt to poke around and find out. If they find them, great! Otherwise, they get a nice walk...

I believe so, at least on the opponents guide they arent listed as retired

My friend went down the trail and nothing happened she said. I forget what needs to be done. I know she needs to do something with the identification card

Has your friend tried refreshing a bit on some of the pages of the nature hike? I don't remember exactly how to trigger them either except that it should have something to do with the nature walk feature, but maybe refreshing for a bit would help.

Also maybe have them double check that they haven't already been unlocked, they would show in the Secret tab of the challenger list if so.

[edit]Here is some information from the wiki: "Walking around these parts will unlock secret battle coliseum challengers. Phungis can be found in the second area, Deadly Bella in the swamp and Nependeathicus can be found in the fields at the end."

So maybe try refreshing on those specific pages until the challengers are unlocked.
