My account is somehow bugged and anytime I get an invite to dance, it is now showing as the exact same user every single time (even when I know who sent the invite and it wasn't the one showing) and the accept/deny never actually goes away. I can hit accept and then go back to the notification and it lets me do it again. Can this be fixed so the actual people asking me to dance can get their reward for me accepting instead of it always going to this same random person?

Have you tried refreshing on the accept screen? Sometimes there are old dances in there that we just haven’t accepted yet, so it seems out of order. If you can refresh on that screen and it keeps showing dances, you just had a backlog. Hopefully it’s that and not a bug. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that isn't it. I opened all of my separate invites in new tabs, and every single tab still showed the exact same user. All still asked for accept/deny, even if I had already done it

Did you click accept and then refresh at the screen that shows the partner and the prize until it says you don’t have any dances left? If not, you should try that. I promise I’m trying to be helpful and not argumentative!

Clicking on the alert to accept a dance takes you to the oldest dance (could even be from last year, which is why I always start a thread to remind people to refresh their accept screen). So, if you had multiple alerts and opened all of them in a separate tab at the same time, they all would have shown that oldest dance request, which would have been the same person.

It sounds a lot like when people are trying to get the reject achievement, but they keep rejecting the “wrong” person. It’s because they have a backlog they haven’t cleared yet and you can only work with one invite at a time.

just tried refreshing after hitting accept, and then also tried it after going to the dance floor. Neither worked, still bugged. Also technically could be used as an exploit so hopefully the mods see this so it can be fixed for future events so people don't take advantage of it

also wanted to add that I tried to look up the "user" it said it was revealed to be, but they don't exist? The name was Chef but I can't search only "Chef" without numbers or something added to the end.

You refreshed on the accept page until it said “Oh no! You haven’t been invited to dance!” and then got invited by someone else and it showed up as the old user? That is unusual.

no, it didn't matter how many times I refreshed it. It never said that. It kept asking me to accept forever. I actually kept up on my dance requests really well to begin with too, and it worked fine until today. The part about the user not even existing was pretty odd too.

Can confirm this bug happened to me! Me and my partner had a dance thread and despite knowing the participants who were dancing, when i'd accept the dances they would be from completely random users. They weren't mystery dances either but I do know they were people dancing in our user event thread.

If you don't get a proper link, then the person doesn't exist. Otherwise you should be able to click them to go their profile. You can type this code in a post, or on your notepad widget (if you use that), or in a blank section on your profile.
