I logged in after being gone for the day and I suddenly have a gold account for a month (shoutout to the folks in shoutbox who told me how to check) but I didn't pay for it, nor did I get an event notification like they said I would've gotten if it were gifted. Anybody have any ideas? I don't know anybody here, so I'm confused. Grateful if it was in fact gifted, but confused.

It's mostly likely someone gifted it to you without you knowing

So there is no way to know for sure? I made a new player post in the welcome area a few days ago, but I really haven't talked to many people. Do players randomly gift GA to newbies?

Basically anybody that doesn't have GA unless you block the option to have one get gifted to you

If you file a ticket they should be able to tell you where the GA came from, but my guess is it was most likely a buddy GA that you missed the notification for c:

will they be able to tell me who it was as long as they didn't intentionally make it anonymous?

You can't anonymously gift a buddy GA, so I would think they could? Especially since it's supposed to send out a notification, and those have the person's username listed in them anyway. But I'm not positive if they would or not
