I was looking at achievements today and noticed the Subeta meetup, I wasn't around in 2011 or 2012, so I'm not sure how successful or not they were! But I always thought it would be a cool idea to have a meetup sort of thing even before I knew about the achievement!
Maybe im the only one? ;0;
I would LOVE if the meetups were a thing again!
I'd love a virtual meetup; it would make more sense given the global pandemic, and would also be accessible to a lot more people. I think it would give more creative options to the hosts as well, since they would have tools available to them they wouldn't at an in-person meetup (i.e. anything on their computers could easily be shared to all).
Of course, I'm not familiar with the restrictions/fees different programs have (like Discord) that might limit it, but I feel like something could be arranged.
It could either be a "everyone gather at x time to chat freely" type deal, or more like an update livestream with the host primarily talking.
I'm all for a virtual Meetup like you have suggested Reya. I think they could be done by Zoom.

I went to a real meetup back then. They were A LOT of fun! I'd love to go to another one 😊
Yeah, virtual meetups should be a thing. I wouldn't go to a in-person meetup; they're hell to organize and with COVID still rampant, I'd rather not risk my health for pixels.

I’d love to attend an IRL meetup! Virtual stuff gives me awful anxiety & I just freeze up, but in person I feel like I can actually be myself. Accessibility isn’t one size fits all! Of course if there is a digital meetup I’d figure out how to sign in.. for like 60 seconds just to get the achievement, but I wouldn’t participate or enjoy myself. That said I can see how anything IRL requires infinite more planning, so I’m not getting my hopes up. Just.. plz know that there are those of us who would happily attend!

That was the year that and I were traveling around the country (and europe!), in our youths, going from airbnb to airbnb (back when they were cheap and the wifi almost never worked). It's a lot harder now to make plans to be in a place, especially covid time!!
I've been thinking about bringing back the Keith Answers kind of format, and possibly doing some live hangs on zoom.

As someone who went through the trouble of going to a meetup like a decade ago I would support meetups returning through virtual means, especially because of the pandemic etc. If it means the achievement prize and its contents can come back into existence at a more reasonable price... (Guess who regrets selling theirs baha)

Meetups were cool. Would do it again in person or virtually. Also miss the Keith Answer videos and random vlogs.

a meetup would be cool! i'd love to go to one in-person, but i know that's difficult on all fronts to set up and have it be successful/accessible. online meetups would be cool, maybe like discord/zoom hangs, movie nights on discord, etc.

I thought meetups irl became complicated because some user went to one and harassed the staff. 😬
I do remember the final one (New York City? 2012?), even though I didn’t attend it.
I really dislike video chats, but I’d tune in for a livestream.
Would love to do some kind of virtual meetup!! I'd be down to do an IRL one at some point in the future (covid allowing) as well! It would be so fun to meet and hang out with everyone!!
