So a kinda creepy thing that happened to me was when I was 19. I was working at a grocery store in my hometown between attempts at college and I always got stuck with closing shifts which meant I was often not off work until close to 10:30pm. At the time, I didn't have a car and had to walk home but it's a small town (I think from the store to my house was probably 1 mile or less and that's from just about one end of town to the other) almost no one was out that late so I wasn't that worried. I should mention that on the end of town closest to where my parent's house is, there's a gas station that also had a truck stop where semi drivers can park overnight if they need to rest or whatever so, while not super common, semi-trucks would sometimes go through town along main street. Anyway, I was walking home, down main street until I got to the corner that was nearly a straight shot to my parent's house and I noticed a truck coming down the street but didn't think anything of it. I had my earbuds in, listening to music and turned the corner I normally did, now heading away from main street when I heard some noise behind me. I thought it was odd, and turned to look and saw the semi turning off of main street at the same corner I did. So I was a bit creeped out, but just turned back and kept walking. And pretty soon the semi pulls up beside me and stops. And I stupidly stopped and looked over. And the driver pops his door open and goes "hey, where ya headed?" So I say I just got off work and am heading home. And then he says "hey, wanna get a drink with me?" I said no, I really do need to get home. He tries again to get me to go with him and I again turn him down and then quickly walk away, making a slight detour from my normal route because I figured it would be too hard for him to negotiate the smaller residential streets with the semi (tbh the thought of him leaving the truck to come after me on foot never crossed my mind and thankfully he didn't). Maybe he was just a lonely truck driver looking for some company, or maybe he had something more nefarious in mind. Either way, I'm glad he didn't continue trying to follow me. Or worse.

Because my directions probably aren't the clearest, in the spoiler is a tragically poor quality cropped map of the town that kind of clarifies where I worked (purple dot) where I lived (teal dot) and the path I usually took to get home (pink arrows/lines).

I don't know if this counts as creepy - you be the judge, I guess.

When I was a kid, my dad bought me this (clean but clearly pretty old) stuffed tiger at a flea market, because I thought it was really cute and wouldn't stop begging for it. I slept and played with it for a few weeks without issue, but at some point it started to make me uncomfortable. I had convinced myself that it was watching me, and that it was moving in my room when I wasn't there (ridiculous, obviously). I didn't want to tell my dad that I didn't want it any more, so I started sticking it in my bottom drawer at night.

Next to my bedroom was a large closet that my sisters and I used sometimes as a "secret book club hideout," and at the back of the closet was a little door into an attic crawlspace that we weren't allowed to go into. When even having the tiger in my room made me uncomfortable (I kept imagining it pushing the drawer open and climbing out while I slept), I opened the crawlspace door and chucked it in, and a few weeks later I had forgotten about it.

About 10 years ago, I was talking to my dad about that house, and the subject of the attic crawlspace came up when he was talking about renovations he had made before he and his second wife had gotten divorced (it had been her house). He said he remembered coming across the tiger while he was cleaning and replacing the insulation up there, and throwing it in his garbage bag immediately. I had completely forgotten about the tiger, but I remembered being scared of it for no good reason and throwing it in there. I asked him why he had thrown it away, and he said that a mouse had chewed a hole in it to make a nest, and when he had picked it up to investigate, he found that the tiger hadn't been stuffed with cotton like a normal stuffed animal - it had been stuffed with human hair, and a tag sewn on the inside had a list of girls' names printed on it in black ink. Maybe it was a family heirloom lovingly stuffed with the first-haircut clippings from all of the girls in the family or something else totally-not-creepy-at-all, but...

Warning: Long It was my birthday in 1999. I received a brand new, highly sought after toy. It was a small creature, soft to the touch, with a pleasantly round and plump form not unlike a baby bird - it even had a beak. My dad unscrewed a plastic plate on the bottom and carefully inserted four AA batteries. With deft hands he reattached the bottom plate and the creature instantly came to life.

Immediately, it began to make pleasant cooing noises, blinking up at me with large blue eyes seemingly full of wonder at its new environment. I beamed down at this small creature, laughing as it flapped its ears and sang to itself in a strange, high-pitched, robotic voice. I ran my hands over its delightfully soft fur, petting my new little friend.

Throughout the day my new toy moved from singing and cooing to words and short phrases. It began to communicate its needs to me in simple phrases such as, "I'm hungry," and, "Feed me!" It seemed to have a constant need to communicate; even when it slept it would continue to hum and sing in its sleep.

After a long day of learning I had expected my new toy to be tired, despite the short nap it had in the afternoon. Sitting near me, it had ceaselessly chattered all day, though it was clearly running out of steam as its voice had sunk a few octaves sounded strained. I put on my pyjamas, brushed my teeth, said goodnight to my family and headed to bed. I told my new friend that we would have plenty of adventures in the morning, to which it replied with a happy, if a touch more robotic, gurgle.

Laying in near darkness, snuggled in with all my plushie friends to keep them safe, I began to drift off to sleep.

That's when I heard it: the noise that sent an icy chill shooting down my spine and forcing my eyes wide open.

My new toy was giggling to itself.

The sound, normally friendly and pleasant, had become distorted. It was slow, deep, demonic. The crackle of static echoed from its beak and as I rolled over, fumbling with my glasses, I spotted its wide blue eyes gleaming in the moonlight streaming in through my window. They were wide - too wide, like an owl that had spotted its prey. My breath hitched in my chest as I met its gaze, willing myself not to blink as this friend-turned-predator stared down at me. An ear twitched, then lifted, halted again. It seemed disoriented and frustrated, a crackling gurgle booming from its small body. The grinding of a motor cut through the night, setting my teeth on edge as my imagination supplied me with the image of the motor grinding something much more fragile.

I blinked. It stared back. Perhaps it wasn't sure of itself. Perhaps its intentions were not malevolent. It had, after all, made no move towards me. I took a deep breath, summoned my courage and reached for it. It protested weakly as I lifted it up, proclaiming, "N....o.... j..oooooooo....k...e..." as it felt itself being flipped over. I held it under my bedside lamp, [sup]which had been left on as usual because I was 8 and terrified of the dark and I totally grew out of that and no I don't still sometimes run down the hall from the bathroom at night because I turn on my phone's flashlight but I keep it low so it doesn't disturb anyone else because I want them to sleep and not at all because I don't want them to see my wide eyes as I shuffle very slowly and very calmly back to my room like an adult.[/sup]

Under the light I quickly discovered that stopping my toy would not be so easy. Unlike most toys it did not have an on/off switch. The bottom was flat, the plastic plate being secured with a single screw. Unfortunately, I did not have easy access to a screwdriver as my dad's tools were stored out of reach. Besides, I would have to walk down the hallway, descend into the basement and enter the garage. The prospect was even more terrifying than the toy I held in my hands.

Flipping it back over, it continued its steady stream of noises, though it was becoming more demonic by the minute. I weighed my options quietly. I could sneak through the house as quietly as I could so as not to wake my parents and get in trouble, as well as avoiding any possible ghosts or other monsters that might be lurking in the dark. That idea did not sound appealing as I had a very strong, completely healthy and not at all ridiculous fear of the dark that was absolutely paralyzing at times. I would be so overcome with fear that my imagination would conjure all kinds of images in the dark. No, that wouldn't do.

Holding the small, fuzzy demon in my hands, letting its constant stream of croaks, groans and mechanical whirring wash over me, I looked to my closet. There lay my salvation.

Climbing out of bed, careful to avoid stepping to close to the underside where monsters were definitely hiding, I walked the length of my room to my closet. Inside was a box full mostly with old school work, drawings and knickknacks that I had collected. It was my very chaotic treasure chest with contents that were a mystery even to myself. Once I packed a thing away I would quickly forget that it had ever existed.

I opened the lid and surveyed the space inside. Yes, this would do. I pulled a sweater off a hanger and wrapped my toy inside it. The creature continued to groan, its voice now more mechanical than ever. It no longer had a voice that could be recognized; it was completely taken by whatever strange forces were at work. With that fear in mind I placed the demon inside the box before tearing more clothes from their hangers. I could still hear the muffled sounds of the ancient evil that inhabited the creature. If it had hands it would have tossed aside my feeble attempts to silence it, I was sure of it. I piled clothes inside the box until I could barely hear the devil inside and closed the lid. I cast around in my closet and located several of my heavier books which I placed on top of the box as an added security measure.

Relieved, I closed my closet door, crossed my room and hopped into bed. Though I watched the closet for a time I saw no movement and I eventually drifted off to sleep.

The next day my toy no longer spoke. Its eyes stared blankly up at me and the creature no longer seemed so menacing. I could not forget the past night, however, so I left it in my box of treasures to be forgotten... or, perhaps, suppressed.

Though many years have passed [sup]god i'm old[/sup] that toy was the one thing in my box of treasures that I never could forget. All these years it has been sitting in the dark, waiting, watching. It bides its time, knowing that it has all the time in the world to hunt its prey...

ex:

 1. My radio would turn on and off, like what you see in scary movies...when the music goes up and down in volume.
 2. I started hearing voices calling my name.
 3. Footsteps going up and down my house.

Scary as hell.

In the break room at work it’s just me and my supervisor chilling. Eventually I get up to go back out on the work floor, exit break room and walk like two steps. And my supervisor is already standing out in the work floor. How did she get past me, like, it just wasn’t possible. The hallway from the break room is so narrow she would have had to push me aside to beat me out onto the floor. I have no explanation. It’s like she just teleported. Very odd.

The creepiest thing to happen to me was when I was in high school.

SPOILER (click to toggle) My family had gone to stay at another family member's home for the holidays, and there were some others staying over so we had arranged sleepover areas. I was in the living room on the floor with a few others, and after some late night chatting we started dropping off to sleep.

I've always been a bit of a night owl so I was still wide awake, but I was trying to sleep, curled up on my side facing an older cousin. There was this sort of creaking sound on the carpet behind me, like someone had stepped onto the flooring. I figured it was our uncle checking up on us, but when my cousin rolled over to face me, woken up by the same sound, she whispered to ask if I'd heard the noise.

I told her I did, and she made a confused sound. She asked me if I made the noise. I told her no. She told me there was nothing behind me, so who had done it?

Our family is actually pretty superstitious, so after a moment of staring, we kinda giggled and joked that it was a ghost.

We immediately stopped laughing when the noise picked up again, in quick succession--like footsteps heading in our direction, padding over the carpet. I remember the panicked squeak I made as we both rapidly scooted closer to the others sleeping and then just as quickly becoming tense and silent. Waiting.

The sound never repeated, and eventually my cousin fell asleep. I stayed awake for several more hours. At some point, I did see my uncle peek over the stairs to check up on everyone. I eventually fell asleep, but it was very restless.

I've slept over a few more times since, but I never heard or experienced anything similar again. But there was once when, during the summer, a different cousin reported seeing the shape of a young boy peeking out the window of one of the rooms on the second floor looking over the backyard, even when all of the boys in the family were already in the pool, so maybe...

HO BOY WHERE SHOULD I START?!

I've had so much weird shit happen to me. Paranormal and otherwise. I don't know - it's like I attract weirdness.

Quick side note: dude, my own mother showed me The Exorcist when I was 13 and I didn't sleep properly for six months. Of course now it's one of my faves. Go figure.

I'll just share one quick story that's been playing over and over in my head lately as I try to figure out the reasons it happened. I don't remember what age exactly, but it was nearing the end of the 90s and we were headed into the 00s so I must have been 10-11ish.

SPOILER (click to toggle) There was this horse camp my mom let me attend for a couple summers. It was religious as well, so we'd ride horses, learn how to take care of them, attend bible study, go to lunch, have activities, attend worship, etc. Not in that order, really, but I just wanted to give you an idea of what the camp was like. (I also should clarify that I've since become an atheist and am now somewhat of a skeptic, too.)

Each year, you'd be placed into different sections of the camp. One year I was with a group sleeping in covered wagons. Another year I was in a cabin. Stuff like that.

I should also point out that this place had little electricity, and was surrounded by woods. You'd have to be careful walking around at night, especially if you were in the cabin section, due to branches, gopher holes, uneven ground, etc. Pretty much the definition of roughing it for young kids.

The year this happened, I was with the cabin group. So there were about four or five of us campers and one counselor per cabin.

I drew a crude map to give a better idea of how the area looked -
Okay, the backstory is out of the way now.

Again, it was about four or five campers and one counselor per cabin.

I tried to explain what it looked like inside but decided this map may help more instead -

SPOILER (click to toggle)

Gonna reiterate that this place is surrounded by woods on at least two sides and there's a lake right down the hill from the dining hall.

So, finally, here's the terrifying part.

I went to sleep that night fairly fast, since we did a lot that day and I was exhausted. I actually don't remember falling asleep. Next thing I know, I'm sitting straight up in bed, glasses on (I always put them in a case before sleep), flashlight in my hands shining onto the ceiling.

Or it would've, if the fresh batteries that were put in THAT NIGHT weren't dead.

Let's go over that again.

It's late at night. It's pitch dark out. I don't remember falling asleep. I slept next to a partially open window. My glasses were on. I was awake long enough for my flashlight to die, in a cabin full of other light sleepers. Yet NOBODY noticed anything that happened that night. NOBODY said anything. It was like just any other normal night to everyone except me.

Did I hear an animal? Did I hear a human? Did I hear something down by or in the lake? Did someone or something pass by my window loud enough to wake me? How was it nobody, not even me, noticed the flashlight was on until I regained my senses and realized it died?

Just what the hell went on that night?
I've had a few creepy things happen throughout my life but this story is probably the best for sharing.
My neighbor and I were probably about 12 years old and every day we walked home from the bus stop together. It wasn't a super long walk. Just a few blocks.

So we pass this house and we see an old lady we had never seen before standing in the yard and she's kind of staring blankly at us. We both make awkward eye contact with her and she says "That's right. I'm the devil."

We assume she's like... making light of the awkward exchange with some classic old lady humor so we just sorta lightly laugh and she starts for real cackling. Then she starts to follow us, still cackling.

We're like wth but still unsure if she's serious so we start to walk faster and then so does she. So, we start to run and so does she. This little old lady was full on chasing us!!

Being that we were tweens and she was older, we did manage to get well ahead of her and we made it to my friend's house without her in sight. But, after we closed the door and looked out her window, we saw the old lady meandering down the road.

I stayed in my friend's house until i felt like I had to head home. I was super freaked out the whole walk home.

We never changed up our route after this and continued to walk by that house and never saw her again. No idea if she lived there or was just standing in their yard one day.

Oddly around that same area, I had a guy try to lure me into his car and my friend told me she had a guy insistantly ask her where she lived. Strange coincidence.
Had a sleepover with my best friend and we were on her bed. We had the night lamp on and we were doing something. And there was this shadow which emerged from the door (noting that everyone else in the house was asleep with the lights off). It kind of slipped under the bed and admittedly I was a little more spooked than my friend. We both didn't dare to get off the bed and after looking things up we went to sleep~

I've a few but the more recent one was at an art sale I used to participate in.

Rather than demolishing the old city hall/Canada post (still not clear on the history - it's a point of contention, but I digress). It's commonly known to be haunted. In the women's washroom, the middle tap will turn on by itself. Because of it's heritage, it doesn't have them fancy new doodad auto faucets (being cheeky) but the old turn on and turn off faucets. They will be off and at some point the hot water will turn on.

Then I found out that the men's washroom also has an entity, from a friend who said something along the lines of "There's no dawdling in the washroom."

So I decided as the sale was calming down, that I'd pop to the men's and see.

I stepped into a stall and almost immediately I could feel deep anger. I stayed a bit longer than I probably should've - I remember making a hasty exit apologizing the entire time.

Well, I'm a sensitive to the spirits so I hear and see a lot of creepy things. Lately it's been getting stronger and stronger. But this morning (Halloween at like 1:30 AM) I was walking down my street and since it's a dark dirt road with no lights, I had the light on my phone on. I saw a single animal's eye.It just suddenly vanished and when I reached the spot where it was, there wasn't even any tracks or anything there. Then a few minutes later I saw an orange rectangular light flash up by some powerlines.

But also when I first converted to Satanism, I had a vivid dream that I remember to this day. I was at a store with some friends and we were messing around and eating frosting, you know he ones in the tubes that you use to decorate with. Well we got in trouble and left. We got into my friends car and suddenly it turned into a Gothic version of the car from The Flinstones and sprouted bat wings and we started flying up towards a red tornado. There was all sorts of creatures around us and the next thing I know, I'm talking to Satan and he gives me a double fingered ring and said "It's the ring of The Four Horsemen". He then said, "You are to kill your brother with this ring and I will grant you power beyond what you can imagine" When I woke up I told my mom and started hysterically crying. It didn't scare me so I didn't understand why I was crying.

Then, years later I had a dream that I was floating in the dark and suddenly I saw a faint red star in the distance, I floated over to it and I saw the red star illuminating horns that were slightly curved and type of animal skull, kinda like if a goat and bull crossbred. It was either Satan or Baphomet, they asked if I killed my brother yet and that they were there to give me the power. I said that I refused to even hurt him and then I woke up.

I also had a dog recently pass away that I had for 15 years, half my life literally. I was walking home from getting cigarettes and saw him running across the street. Then a few minutes later I heard him barking. It brought me to tears.

Once my dog was barking and woke me up, her and one of my cats were staring at the corner of my room. I said "Misty shut up" And tried to go back to sleep, everytime I felt myself drifting off to sleep my dog would bark and wake me up. It happened a few times. Falling asleep is weird, it starts at your eyes and kinda spreads throughout your body in an instant. But I finally got fed up with it and did a cleansing on my room. I had a friend that gave me a small piece of wood that I can't remember the name of. I lit it and when I finished doing the cleansing, I heard a scream outside.

This next one is kinda uhm.. gory?I guess. You have been warned.

SPOILER (click to toggle) I lived in a house that no one wanted to live in cause it was haunted. We heard numerous people tell us that house is evil and evil things happen in it. The only way to get to the bathroom was really stupid cause you had to go through one of the two bedrooms and had two doors, one in my room and one in my parents room. I self harm and used to be really bad with it. Well I had cut myself and it was like something possessed me and made me black out. When I came to, I had drawn the sigil of Lilith, the satanic cross and a pentagram in my own blood on my bathroom door. It was perfectly centered and aligned.

When I was younger I would get a visitor spirit named Frank, he was an older man and he would talk to me and we were like best friends. He eventually stopped coming around. It wasn't until about 11 or 12 years ago that I saw a picture of my grandmother, my moms mother, that I had never seen before.I looked at it and saw the man she was with in the photo and yelled "THAT'S FRANK!!" My mom looked at me and said, "I just got this picture so how did you know?" Turns out that Frank was one of my grandmother ex boyfriends. He died before I was even born so there was no way we could have met and I never saw a picture of him before.

Last but not least, I was in the kitchen getting something to drink. I turned around and in the hallway I saw an a ghost like figure, it looked like an Angel tree topper for a Christmas tree, and I yelled for my mom to turn the hall light on as her room as at the end of the hall. I don't know why but it was truly the most terrifying thing I've ever seen. I was 26 at the time. And it takes a lot to scare me. I've had a gun pulled on me before.. It still didn't scare me as much as whatever was in the hallway.

I've experienced way too many creepy things actually.. So I'll only list a few.

SPOILER (click to toggle)

 • I experienced near-death multiple times. Way more than I thought I had. It's more than 3 times. I do stupid things okay.

 • I have seen ghosts and other entities before. physically. I am very sensitive to the supernatural and the creepiest time would be me actually seeing Death in front of me.

 • I have nightmares constantly, but sometimes I have dreams of talking to demons. Yes I know people may have these dream, but these were too realistic as in full on conversations towards me!

Other things I've experience aren't exactly creepy to me, but may be creepy to others so I won't continue. Plus you'd be here all night and I don't have the time to think of every single thing lol.

I'm also a sensitive and it's getting more and more intense. I've been recently seeing a shadow figure by my front door. Earth elemental's cause of the woods being torn down around me for more houses. And those have really been affecting me cause I've been getting really, really, pissed off to the point where I've had the cops called on me for destruction of property to my moms house. I've also seen a shadow figure coming out of the wall just out of view and when I turn my head it goes away. But the thing is, I've seen an ANGEL and it terrified me. Not sure if it was me or something else that was scared, as I have allowed me body to be used. (horrible idea DO NOT EVER DO THIS!! XD)

But I've had similar dreams. I had one the other night about a demon that I had made "friends" with a few nights ago. He came out of a house that had a harvest moons right behind it and his house was a like 50 feet away from the edge of my back deck. He said "I'm living with her" And laughed. I looked at him and said, "Nah man you live over there." And then we had a conversation that I can't really remember. Like, I remember his voice, what he looked liked and how we acted but I can't remember what we talked about or for how long. Can you relate to that part?

He came out of a house that had a harvest moons right behind it and his house was a like 50 feet away from the edge of my back deck. He said "I&;m living with her" And laughed. I looked at him and said, "Nah man you live over there." And then we had a conversation that I can&;t really remember. Like, I remember his voice, what he looked liked and how we acted but I can&;t remember what we talked about or for how long. Can you relate to that part?

Ah. Strange you can't remember what you've talked about. Apparently I can remember the whole conversations. lol. But yes. I have never seen an angel (besides Lucifer) as of yet, but I have been visited by dead relatives. So, shadow figures? Always see them. Mainly in the kitchen or in the front room of our house, but sometimes across my bed. If you remember what you talk about when you wake up, make sure to write it down in a journal or something asap so you don't forget those dreams.
