Could this be a toggle on/off thing depending on if people need it? I'm just imagining it looking like when you price your shop.
Yes! This will help me immensely as someone who remembers things more visually!
yes! please! quick stocking is especially painful for me during holidays when i'm trying to separate the holiday stuff from my questing junk.
✨
I too would fine this very helpful.

I'm exactly the same. Also I didn't want to out myself but my flower knowledge is shocking so sometimes I'll quickstock something and keep it thinking its a flower but then when I look in my inventory it's like...a sprocket or something
It's a great idea in theory and totally makes sense to have however it would require a lot of changes being made to how the quick stock would function. I don't see anything short of a rewrite to be able to make this work.
First thing you'd have to accept is that it'll be slow as hell. The current iteration is super fast and the reason it's fast is because all it is loading is the name of the item. Adding images would require that it load all of those item images which would slow it down. (Also for users on data, this could end up using more data for no reason)
Second thing you'd have to realize is it will take up a lot more space. Like honestly, we're talking the same size as shops, so less items appear on the page without a scroll. On top of that, it can show up to 250 unique items by name right now, and that wouldn't work if it had to show images as well, the shops don't show that much either. It would require pagination added which again is more work.
My third example of a trade off is that it would take time. You are asking for something that is a major change plus you want it to be optional which is an extra layer.
The problem with this idea isn't that it isn't a good idea, it's that it's out of scope. The idea of quick stock is to move a large chunk of items and go. It's meant to be compact and simple. Adding images to it will make it larger, slower and more complex than it should be. I think what you want is quick stock options either in the inventory itself or in shops. Again this would take time however, something like this is more within scope where as adding images to quick stock will really... no longer be a quick stock.
Those are all really fair points - i've got little to no understanding of coding so appreciate that it might be a big ask.
What about having little tick boxes underneath like in the vault? And being able to move items that way?
Yeah so like something like that could work but might end up being a tad ugly (tbh the vault is pretty busy to me) another part of the site that has functionality I think close to what I'm thinking right now is say the Pet Treasure Mass Add. It has a drop down with all the different pets (which could be changed to item locations) and it has a highlight on the items rather than the additional check box being added.
The feature I'm talking about is here something like this I could see being feasible but I wonder why the mass add is limited to only 25 items at a time, so something like that could be a setback but the idea totally exists in some form. The interesting thing about that link to mass add pet tc is that the file path in the address is actually "pet_treasure_qs" lmao so I'm going to assume that maybe a new quick stock exists but it might not be ready or capable of working for how the inventory works.
So the thing about the TC mass add is that it only has 1 destination. Every item will go in a tc no matter what the pet is, so it's kind of like you've already locked that piece of the puzzle. Moving it to work with inventory would end up changing that so it's not just a different destination but also a different use, an item could even be used or disappear all together so each of those destinations now have to be locked into that puzzle. Something like the tc mass add would also have less chances of failing as there is only 1 possible outcome. With every new use or destination you add that increases the possibility of errors and things slipping thru the cracks.
One way I could think to work around that would be if this option existed maybe only if you have show categories set to yes? Since it's already sorted by type.
Not to pull the old "what if this was toggleable" chestnut but I'd have zero reservations if this was a toggle on/off function. I've got a good enough connection that I can handle loading up my 200+ little pictures at once, but for those who don't, yeah that could be nasty. Then again, so's the inventory screen in that regard.
But as a visual person, this would be so helpful for the times I need to sort what is and is not going into the shop
Yes, yes please. It would be very useful to me, I don't know well the name of the items, let alone the item/image combo. I have to maintan two tabs opens, one for the quickstock and another with mi inventory to know what I were moving.
If not, please at least consider being able to choose order options as "Newest items to older items" or Categories order (first all the toys, then all the foods etc.)
I would love this as a toggleable feature. Unfortunately, I have a feeling this would make the servers explode and die if more than a handful of people used the feature. But if I'm wrong it would be great to see them add this option.
