We have this option in preferences: "Do not show show hex (zombie skin, zapper skin, etc) in item hover previews. Checking this may make your previews load slightly faster."

I would love if this could be made to apply to item previews as well. Primarily I find it annoying when browsing CW shops/feed, since it makes it harder to see certain items such as facial features/makeup, and I want to preview based on my default skin instead of a skin I'm using just for one avatar. I noticed it applies to the [preview=item] sCode as well, so it's not just a Subeta V2 thing (though from what I can tell previews on old Subeta are a little different, it seems to generate an image with the hex and item, while in Subeta V2 the default skin, hex skin, and CW are just layered images). Additionally, actual item hovers are also not affected by this preference in CW shops.

For example: hover to preview an item here is affected by the preference, while [preview=Bloodstone Woodpecker] preview item sCode is not.

And in CW shops neither is affected:

If you recently changed that setting, try closing and reopening the CW shop tab. I had the same issue during Survival, but that fixed it. Could also be a cache thing. Either way, I can confirm that it does usually hide the zombie skins in CW shops too [edit] Reopening the tab is no longer working for me so...not sure what I did differently last time but if this isn't a bug or a fluke I support changing it lol

I didn't recently change it, I've left that setting checked for years (I only toggled it on or off a few times today to double check when making this post). I don't use the hex skins that often though so I wouldn't have noticed if it worked fine a while ago but doesn't now. But I think the last time I had a HA with a zapper skin, it did show up in previews in the CW shops (it was about a year ago).

I do remember that hidden limbs used to show up in the previews on Subeta V2, but they don't seem to anymore (also from testing today). So it's possible something changed with the previews. It's good to know that that it worked at some point though.

It could be a cache/cookies thing, I didn't check that. I normally use Chrome on PC. I've now tested incognito mode on Chrome, and checked in Firefox, with the same result. Also on my phone with Chrome, but it's the same. Finally deleted my Subeta cookies and deleted just browser cache on Chrome, but still the same result.

I agree with this. Like most users, I normally use the human avatar while using zapper/zombie skins once in a blue moon like a novelty item. I have this preference checked so I can see how items look on my normal avatar that I would be using 99.9% of the time, but it's really annoying how it doesn't apply to actual previews or seemingly anything on new subeta. I'm currently using the storm zapper skin, and looking at new cws in the directory with this on is super annoying. If I go through the trouble of checking "do not show hex" I don't want to see it. Anywhere.
