awesome contest idea! here are my entries:
by Derelict"what is better- to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" a demon can shed their horns for a halo, should they prove themselves worthy enough of the honor; be that through altruistic motivation, aiding mortals or righting injustice wherever one comes across it. yes- in the same way demons can lose their horns, angels can lose their halos to gain something more sinister.
by Derelictentrance into 'paradise' does not come easily. there are a strict and ever-cemented set of rules and guidelines one must follow to remain. anyone who does not entirely adhere to these principles is removed- by any means necessary. unfortunately for them, these same rules are invented and enforced by those in power. and absolute power corrupts absolutely, as evidenced by their ornately decorated horns. try as they may to pretty them up, they all mean the same thing.

We're here, today, because the winning side planted us back. Which side emerged victorious you ask? Well, that's the question no one can answer.
Every war has prisoners, specially one with such powerful generals and soldiers. That also means that the suffering of said prisoners can not be comprehended by the human brain.

Taumiel, the angel trapped in perdition ~ Back in heaven he was an angel fulfilling his duties: making sure everyone's heaven was working perfectly fine. He was created from beauty to live among beauty and happiness, but now, down here, all he sees is despair, pain and filthy. He started to question himself about the existence of his creator...
Aldebaran, the heavenly prisoner ~ Captured in order to serve as coin in a "hostage exchange" situation that didn't go so well - hell doesn't give crap about demons, he can rot in there for as much as his general cared. But quite the opposite is happening: surrounded by perfection and pure light, Aldebaran is losing his hellish essence. The rusty chains and wires that hold him in place are slowly turning into gold, and he fears that once the process is done he will be one of them. Until that, he will suffer in agony, fear and anxiety for every second of every day.
I will come back to fill in more about them but as I was creating them I was picturing a celestial version of all of those sims 2 "sk8er boi" machinimas sorry girl but you missed out, well tough luck that demon's mine now
Two sides of the same coin, two alternates of the same girl. One rises in flower petals, classical music and the carefully practiced poise of traditional ballet. A warm, and gentle smile. The other descends in leathers, spikes and horns, glittering in silver. A middle finger and a scowl. Two choices, two girls more similar than they seem. One was a punk, one did ballet. What more can I say?
Went with a silver, and gold theme for the Angel. The inspiration was the passage from the bible about how all the roads in heaven are made of gold. I think the colors are very elegant, and fit what an angel might look like.
Outfit Not Found The inspiration for this Demon comes from the tale of River Styx. The Skeletal Demon who ferries people over the river of the dead. The ghostly hands reaching out are the unlucky souls who fell from the boat into watery hell for all eternity.

I do not believe we can have ‘good’ in the world without having ‘bad’ to mirror it. To me the lightness of the pink and gentle flowing feeling is the physical embodiment of good. Good is everywhere around us, in the wind so to say. While the harsh contrast of the deep blood red is internal in us as a being. We are make our choices by what we view to be morally right to us. Everyones definition is different, maybe not to different. But there is always a choice.
These avatars shows how similar and beautiful each side can be.

This was incredibly tough. The entries here were amazing. I wish I'd expanded to more than just the top three when I began the contest, but I have to stick to that, which has made deciding that much more difficult. As such, I have turned judging over to the Highest Holy, and the Depths of Perdition. Fear Not, for their voices are great and terrible, yet restrained.

with Taumiel and Aldebaran. We adore this concept, mortal. The designs are wicked and tormented and gruesome, as befitting such an ordeal. with the Fallen, and the Golden. Unholy will rejoicing in freedom against the righteous order, and greed surmounting the duties of the host. , with a clean and pleasing depiction of morality and its internal vices.
Ye three shall be rewarded most highly.
