sorry idk if this should be on the CW forum since its not an idea/WIP/whatever, just a question
but when you go to submit a CW, the Custom Image file has to be in .gif format and i literally..cant figure out how to save my art as a gif without the quality going way, way down... if i submit a .png file which looks fine will the CW get denied?? what program is everyone using to save their images as .gif?? i downloaded krita because it said it could save as gif but it looked WORSE than when i saved it in MS Paint lol q__q
The item image HAS to be a gif, or else it won't even let you submit it from my understanding. The wearables/overlays need to be a png.
I'm not sure if Krita maybe has settings for gifs (I know Photoshop does) and you might need to mess with those to see what works. If that still doesn't work you might also be able to consider using a website that changes the file type for you. This website seems to work for me: LINK. I tested it on one of my final size PNGs and the quality looked the same as what photoshop produces for me.
There could also be some technical issues that are causing you problems too.
You can also post the PNG here + ping me and I can take a look at what happens in my programs and see if I can help you find a solution that way / continue to help you troubleshoot!!
hey, thanks so much for your reply!! tbh i didnt try changing any settings in krita lol; a friend reminded me that gimp exists so i downloaded that and it was able to save as a .gif that didnt look terrible! so i guess this is solved LOL
thanks for taking the time to give all this info tho! i thought abt using one of those file type converting sites but i always feel like theyre going to put a virus on my computer asdfhjsdfhjk
I use this site to make my CWs into GIFS in case you're ever on a computer without a proper program ^^
