Pet Link by ID Code

The last one was closed because necro rules, but this seems to actually have some measure of support.
Pet linking by ID code would provide a permanent way to link to a pet, even when it changes owners, the owner changes name, or the pet itself changes name. Something that linking by pet name can't do for obvious reasons. If possible, it should even be able to update on the forum post itself since it would be pulling the link information from the ID.
I assume this is way more complicated that it sounds, because otherwise after three months of pet linking being broken throughout the site I'd have to conclude that working pet links is just bottom of the barrel priority. Linking by ID would (hopefully) bypass the redirection flubbing that is currently happening with pet linking by legacy name and by owner/name.
So, hey, how about petID=XXXXX BBcode being a thing when Keith and/or any other programmer has a chance to take a look at it.
<p>We&;d probably also need an easier way to find/see our pet&;s ID to go along with this, since right now we only find it in the URL or by viewing a pet page&;s source. Perhaps this could be added to the pets page?
(I'll edit this to be less aggressive/jerkish later probably. We don't know why pet linking is broken or why it's been so for this long.)

We already have many links to id stuff - forum topics, outfits, trades and of course userID. It would be helpful to have some place to see these, but even without it we manage to use the ID codes. Pets would be no different.

Definite support, especially as non-unique pet names are a thing!
If the pet name ID sCode was working (which I know it isn't :P) and someone changed their username, it would mean that all their non-unique pet sCodes would have to be changed.... if the pet ID code existed, it would remain the same, and automatically take you to the right pet (like the user ID code takes you to the right user profile even if they've changed username), regardless of whether the pet or user had changed names at any point :)

I fully support! The user name along with the pet name doesn't seem to work as well as it should right now. At least with IDs they'll never change.

I useD pets/username/petname so I can show pets I'm proud of on my profile, and not overwhelm people with a ton of blank or WIP pets. With as many hoops and hurdles I'd have to go through to show only a select few pets with the default pet widget, it's more coding effort than I feel like putting forth anymore. So having petid=#### would be a lot more efficient.
I just want to see my pets again lmao.
