Subject says it all. Realistically speaking, how many skins can you get during survival yearly, based on stage progression length? How long is stage progression even? I just want to be able to weigh my options if I can only get, say, 3 new skins instead of 5.
Thanks in advance!
Each stage progression is roughly 7.5-8.5 hours. Skins from different years are different number of stages (4-8) so it depends on which skins you want to get how many you will be able to get. If you only get 8-stage skins then you'll get fewer and if you get several 4- or 6-stage skins then you will be able to get more.
[edit] Here is the SubetaLodge section that has all the skins! Pick the Survival YEAR from the dropdown to see that year skins and you will also see how many stages it has (between 4-8).
Stage progression rate is roughly 8 hours between each stage. Different strains have different amounts of stages ranging from 4-6. Subetalodge has the amount of stages each strain takes. Most of them do take 8 stages though. The only ones that only have 4 stages is the vial strains. This years strains have 7 stages. Last years and 2010s skins were 6 stages.
I've generally gotten 5 strains a year, but I think 4 is more typical. To get extra I've really pushed limits by making sure to be online as soon as the VIP lounge opens, calculating when my stage will end so that I'm online when it ends and get a new one right away. Using the vial strains judiciously and being aware that you only need to get infected before the end of the event - if the event ends at midnight a certain day, for example, as long as you hit stage one by 11:58:59 PM, you're good. The skin will continue to progress past the end of the event.
Still, if there's a strain I really want, I make sure to get it as early as possible because no matter how exactly you calculate, there is some randomness involved (and real life sometimes happens and messes up your calculations).
