A newer feature is Custom Wearables. Users can commission/draw their own art for wearables and sell/distribute them. That's an entire scene that I'm not super familiar with, if you're interested there's a forum dedicated to it a bit down the listing.

If you do your quests (easy money), you will find you earn quest points which can be spent in the quest store. There are a lot of lovely affordable wearables and other items from there too n__n

Yes customs cost CSC, but you don't have to spend Real Life Currency to get CSC if you don't want to. There are ways to earn CSC for free onsite, eg. doing the bathhouse dailies on consecutive days without breaking your streak, receiving and using Morty Cards from questing, purchasing CSC off users with sP c:
