There is no next step for Quentin. In the news comments from their release as a challenger, a few people mentioned the spectral scarves working but buying the minions are probably a safe bet if some items aren't working for you

For Kain, I also looked at the news comments and it seems like people had to type out the full user not found: [*npc] kain text (no asterisk) in order to get it to work instead of just [*npc] kain (unless that's just the user= code not working but you wouldn't use the code in the gift center so I don't think that's it). If you've tried that, maybe try using some of the bugs people mentioned specifically that worked for them?

Hello, I'm the one that was trying to get the Kain challenger, is trying to help me unlock things. I just unlocked Kain by putting in [npc] kain and sent the bug gift and he came right up. Thanks for the info!
