I've been watching Cowboy Bebop again and I just refuse to skip the intro, so I was curious if anyone else felt the same about different shows. There's always one, right? So, what are some tv show intros you just won't skip?
Depends on the show, but there are definitely a lot that I like to watch. Twin Peaks, Six Feet Under, for sure. But even stuff like Star Trek, I like the intro bc it gives you time to get in the mood of the show (and also like, get snacks or do whatever before it starts).
Space Dandy. That intro is an absolute bop and it's an insult that Netflix offers a skip button on it. I also insist on watching the credits as the outro is good too.
I picked up a Blu-Ray copy after the show was removed from Netflix (it has since returned. UK service), so now I just enjoy both without their interference. :)
No skipping Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo either.
I don't like to skip any show's intro as it doesn't feel like I'm watching a show if I do. No matter how long said intro is.
One of my few exceptions is The Feed (an Amazon Original show). Another is Iron First (Netflix Marvel Show).
For some reason I always loved the intro's to American Horror Story and True Blood, almost to the point that I like the intro's more because of the atmosphere and look of these intro's (that often didn't really fit the tone and atmosphere of the show).
I also just watched Anne with an E and I really liked to watch the intro, I love how beautiful it is.
I always watched the intros to Game of Thrones. They were always gorgeous and also helpful with the world building. And it told you where episodes and seasons were going to focus if you paid attention.
Lots of anime have great openings, but I'm really fond of Beastars' season 1 opening. I love stop motion animation and it's such a charming, rare sight to see in anime! The dolls they made for the characters with their fur textures really reminded me a lot of Fantastic Mr Fox and some of Rankin/Bass's stuff

I love listening to Star Trek intros! I often can't help but "sing" along with them, with real emotion, although that often prompts my boyfriend to skip them, sooooo... sometimes I just keep it in my head. lol
I never skip the intro for Psych, for the music but also for the clip show. They do such a good job at picking shots from the show that are even more hilarious out of context but also really show the characters' personalities. I also love the opening credit song for What We Do in the Shadows, although I understand why it might not be everyone's cup of tea. :-D

- I never skip the intro for Psych too! I always sing-along when it comes on.
I also absolutely love the intro for Scrubs - very sing-alongable too.
There was a spell during which I was listening to the full "I'm No Superman" track on repeat.

I love the intro for Narcos, because I love the song. The guitar is so pretty.
I don't tend to skip intros no matter what but I do tune most of them out, while there are a few that I consider an integral part of the experience of watching the show. Just hearing the opening notes to these theme songs makes me immediately feel things. Ones that come to mind are Breaking Bad (it's so short there's no point in skipping it anyway, but it effectively sets the tone in just a few moments...it's the most perfect intro for what is probably the most perfect television show and I'm not typically one bit interested in crime drama stuff), all the Star Trek series except Enterprise (I mean the show is great and I enjoy the opening credit visuals but I don't know what they were thinking with the song choice), Rick and Morty, American Horror Story, Vikings and X-Files.
I guess The Simpsons deserves a shoutout too for making me always pay attention to see the chalkboard and couch gags since they're different for every episode.
I love intro songs! Some of my favourites are from shows I watched as a kid. Specifically the Winx Club and Cardcaptors 4Kids TV theme songs. I know they aren't original intros, but those really bring me some happy memories.
I also never skip the Fate: The Winx Saga or The Witcher intros.
Some great ones that come to mind are; The Crown, X-Files, House and Twin Peaks.
Kind of a predictable answer, but I have always loved the intro to The Simpsons. Partially because they alter various bits of it from time to time (the couch gag being the obvious but not only part). And even if it was the same every time, there's just so much that happens in it, it's a joy to watch!
Many of the intros I like though are often for their theme music. I absolutely love the full version of the intro music to Desperate Housewives (in earlier seasons, before they made it about 5 seconds long lol). It's a really fun and also exciting little piece of music and I love the way it builds up and sets the dramedy atmosphere for the show. For similar reasons, I also love the theme music to Good Omens, it's so quirky and mysterious! Also, both of these introductions are animated very beautifully too (and suitably for their shows' atmosphere).
