For whatever reason, my brain has become utterly obsessed with Dune. The first book was amazing and I’m waiting for my next free check to buy the next two books. I also downloaded the 1992 video game and love playing it. But I’m curious: has anyone seen the new movie? If so, is it any good?

I think it was well done, but I personally found a few details that were very different from the books. It kind of annoyed me, but the actors were great! I think they chose well. It's only a part one, so the second part is coming out in a few years. Definitely worth the watch, but I would recommend seeing it in theaters if you can because it looks weird on HBO max.

I am doing a Dune re-read in chronological order but taking a break to do a re-read of The Dresden Files. Yeah...I start a re-read and then start another re-read...

Anyways...I like the new Dune movie. If there wasn't a pandemic going on, I'd watch it in theaters. Can't wait until Part 2!

I don't think you're playing the game I did back in the day...you could choose to be one of three Houses and it was a military strategy game. I wasn't good at it, but it was fun. I believe it had live action segments.

As someone who has not read the books, I thought the movie was pretty exciting, even though I didn't know what was going on most of the time 😂 The cinematography was incredible.
