So I tried to buy something directly for the first time, but the item didn't show up in the wardrobe and when I did an account search, it said I didn't have it, so I had to buy it from shop search, where it was a different price to what the buy directly thing had said, which I think might be why it didn't work, but it could also not be working in general, I don't know, I'm not sure I want to try it again at the moment because I don't know if it actually took my SP the first time or not.

Same here. I feel like it's happened a couple times both on mobile and on my laptop.

I can confirm that it doesn't work, my inventory is still empty and my amount of sP hasn't changed a bit despite the "purchased 💸" message.
