Hey guys, I'm Arachne. I'm 35 and been playing Neopets since way way waaaaay back when. I've done a runner thanks to the NFT debacle and it's looking like I've found a nice little spot over here. I can't believe I'd never even heard of Subeta until just now! I can tell I'm going to be killing a lot of my time here. I'm absolutely loving how easy it is to do things compared to Neopets! Make a pet? Here's a massive selection and an insane number of open spots. Feed your pet? Don't worry about trying to work out item names. Here's an extensive list of food items and links to the food shops. Stock your store? No probs - you don't need ninja reflexes to nab things. Price things? Here, have a quick look at what that item's selling for without even opening another page. Make a cool avatar? You betcha! BTW - wanna be a mermaid? Spoiler alert: The answer is 'yes.'

Anyway, as for stuff about me: I'm an Aussie, so I'll be on here at random hours compared to a lot of you. I am a zooarchaeologist when I have to be, and I write stories with what non-working time I have. And when my brain is totally dead (which is frequently) I like to play video games. Though I'm usually an RPG/action game type I'm currently stuck on Obey Me and Genshin Impact, but I'm counting down the hours until the Animal Crossing update. In my spare time I like swimming in my mermaid tail, trail riding through the bush, and playing D&D with my husband and our friends.

I've been following the Neo NFT debacle, glad I bailed on it ages ago :/ I really feel for everyone who has stuck with it and genuinely hoped things would improve.

Can't wait for the AC update either, it really reignited my excitement to play! Especially the paid DLC, honestly, I loved HHD on the 3DS.

Yeah, I'm so pumped I got here in time for Morostide. It's already been heaps of fun carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating all over the place. I definitely chose the right time to try it out.

And yaaay! Glad I sound cool to someone! It's a pretty great job, tbh. Though writing reports gets beyond boring, haha. As with any job, I guess.

And yeah, that NFT thing is so frustrating. Honestly, I've been on and off NP over the years, more off than on lately because of how dead in the water it all seemed. The NFT thing is just the final nail in the coffin for me. I honestly think it's all about to bite the dust. I'm feeling pretty bummed about leaving my pets behind. It's funny, they're really just pixels but they're my pixels, you know?

And users are so much more mature and just relaxed! I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I have over the years! <3

welcome!! I love how you layered the crabs with your mermaid tail, it's so cute. I'm glad you're having fun, Morostide is one of the bigger holidays here. next up is Fireside with plushies, a bonfire, and pumpkin pies made from all your leftover Moro pumpkins.

I'm sure you noticed by now, but questing is a fantastic way to collect sP, and usually has some pretty good rewards to boot-- unlike neo, which... I never figured out the point of questing on neo aside of money sinks. on top of earning sP and items, you can earn a currency called QuestPoints which you can use in the Quest Shops for exclusive goodies! on weekends a different quest NPC is picked to give out extra money and special items! I recommend starting with Sarah if you haven't already, then moving on to the Wizard (who gives out Wizard Tokens which are usable for all kinds of things all over the site!).

I do watch some D&D stuff on youtube, though I'm pretty off and on about it, haha. I was really into Critical Role for ages - managed to get through all the first season and then stalled halfway through the second for some reason. I'm keen for the third though - can't wait to see the new characters they create! How about you? Do you watch many of them?

And yeah, I'm definitely finding the atmosphere much more relaxed than at Neo. It feels more homey and chilled out, rather than manic and confused. I'm a big fan so far. Can't wait for that Fireside festival next!

I've definitely been pumping out the quests lately. Can't believe how much you get for doing them! It's great! And it's really helping me find my way around the site as well. I did a bunch for some drill sergeant dude yesterday and I was finding cool games and random dailies to do. It was great! Side note: I am utterly horrendous at that Divine Discs game. Hooly hell. I think my brain caved in just trying to do it once, lmao

oH Divine Discs. I might be mistaken but I'm pretty sure we had to do that game for a site event a few years ago. 😢 don't worry, it kicked my ass too, I waited until smarter players put out a comprehensive guide XD Sgt. Drills is a great way to learn different parts of the site, for sure! dailies are also a great way to kill time-- the Bath House in Shengui Guo can give you different currencies for the site if you keep up a visiting streak!

I listened to the first season of The Adventure Zone, and I keep meaning to finish it (I'm on the second-to-last story arc) but it made me full on Ghibli-cry on a plane full of strangers so I'm afeared of what the last chunks might hold. I couldn't get into CritRole, sadly, the video element of it just kind of throws me for a loop because I like to listen while I do other tasks that occupy my vision like sew or grind other games. I keep meaning to give it another shot, maybe while I play Solitaire?

I know, right! I'm a new Neo convert too, and doing quests right after I signed up is what sold me on Subeta--the site just has so much less friction for doing...just about anything than Neo does, and it's wonderful ^.^ And suddenly having millions of sP felt pretty good too :D

Divine Discs isn't so bad, you just gotta figure out a system to use the clues they give and you can solve it every time. It's one of my favorite games, and once you get quick at it, the sP payout is decent too!

Honestly, I couldn't even get my head around what the clues meant! I think my brain's given up entirely on stuff like that. I used to be so good, and now sometimes it's like my brain's gone "Eh, nah. That's more of a younger me thing. Let's just go with solitaire." lol.

Yeah, that video element is a bit of a killer. Once I stopped marrying myself to the idea of watching it, it got a lot easier. I ended up listening to the podcast version instead, at 1.5x speed because 4 hours is just waaay too long for me to listen. I do the same as you and listen to it while I'm sewing or cleaning.

I haven't tried Adventure Time yet. I've heard it's really good and I've been meaning to for years but just haven't gotten around to it. I had no idea they actually got all feelsy like that! Oh, man. And I'm a massive cryer too, so I can completely see myself doing the same and bawling my eyes out.

No doubt I'll have a million of them in the next few days, haha! For now I'm just feeling my way through and trying to get my bearings. Hopefully it won't take too long before it feels like I've always been here :D

Ahh, a similar origin story to my own (and surely many more here)! It's a nice change of pace from Neo - It's sad to see the potential of the inspiration for places like subeta, dappervolk, etc failing so hard to understand what their users want. Welcome!

I'm deadly curious what NFT thing happened on Neopets. I lost my login info a long time ago and their system is so arcane that I haven't been able to get back in and so I've just been ignoring it.
