This was something a forum we're on implemented so I figured I'd suggest it, it's a way to change avatars between posts using an image url. I asked the owner and got the plugin they used, even though I'm pretty sure Subeta doesn't use Proboards that's a good example of what I'm talking about.

This is a really good accessibility feature for systems and why I'm suggesting it, but I also think with forum images it can be good for post decorations with images. It can also be used by people who want to show mood or similar or who want to use it to show oorp vs muse posts.

Perhaps this can also be a cash shop feature in order to prevent people from taking advantage of it if that's a concern?

Forums are very laggy during events, and I can't imagine that would be good.
