I'm not sure of my ability to wow, but I am falling in love with Leala and would like to try.

I recently adopted

Oya. In several Slavic languages, her name means "nest" or animal home of some kind. There is another Slavic word similar to Leala (lialka) which means "puppet" or "doll," and this gave me an idea to combine the two into one story.

Oya's never been a home bird. Her interests lie in flying far and wide, visiting new lands, meeting new people. Unfortunately, she's never had the opportunity to travel far from her own forest. She'd had great plans, but then she ate some poisoned berries and became sick, and her parents' tree fell down and she had to help them move, and one thing or another prevented her from going anywhere. In other words, life happened.

Leala has never had a home. As a pinky (a baby mouse) not quite a month old, she was abandoned in the meadow when a hawk swooped down and stole her mother away. She survived by hiding in little holes and keeping quiet. She developed a deep fear of loud noises and sudden movement, and her lack of proper nutrition stunted her growth.

Leala would never have survived winter if Oya hadn't found her one day, shivering under a leaf on a particularly rainy and cold morning. The poor mouse ran from Oya and hid in a shallow hole formed by a wavy tree root. Curious, Oya followed her. She gave the mouse some seed that she had been collecting for the winter, and slowly, Leala came out. Over time, she learned to trust Oya, who took her back to her home in an abandoned squirrel's nest.

Once home, Leala immediately warms up to Oya, and the two become inseparable. Oya showers Leala with affection and her favorite seeds, and Leala cuddles with Oya on cold nights, keeping them both warm.

This story is inspired by my relationship with my cat, and I would like to develop it further if given the chance to adopt. I would be changing Leala into a chibi wyllop, which always reminds me of a rag doll.

I haven't been able to do much on Subeta lately because of school; if that takes me out of the running, I totally understand. I've been thinking lately of starting to write my pets' stories in my down time and just generally letting Subeta tap into my creativity.

Oya and Leala would be a part of my "In the Glade" grouping, whose stories are based off of or influenced by myths/fairy tales/books. In addition to being inspired by myself and my cat, their story has an air of Aesop's Fables to it in my mind. Since birds tend to eat mice, and in particular since a bird killed Leala's mother, I think that this story can demonstrate a unique connection and the healing power of trust. (Or something like that!)

I'd love to adopt Pry! But not gonna lie, I have a lot of WIPs so it'll take me awhile to get around to Pry. I understand if this makes me a less attractive adoptee than others who are interested. So far, my finished pets are

Velen, and lately been a bit busy, so just been working here and there on all the others. For me, Pry feels like a younger sibling that always asks "why?" incessantly, And while the other inhabitants of my world may find Pry to be annoying at times, they also find Pry to be endearing. Though, some of the grumpier characters, like

Badger may redirect Pry's annoyingness at an unlucky individual.

Sorry, I decided to keep Leala. You certainly wow'd me tho.

Hello! I am seriously interested in Mauser! The name is perfect, and i love my older pets to pièces!

A little about myself, i have been a user here for 15 years, and plan to be here for many more! I used to win the pet spotlight with a few of my pets and their pages, unfortunately the site changed their coding, and all my pet pages broke... but I am working hard on learning the new code so i can redo everyones pages!

I am also an artist and rper, so all my pets are characters from vast worlds of fantastic beauty. A sample of my character overlays is

The world I will put him in is the world of Torris, the main species is a type of dragon or drake as they are wingless for the most part, called Mulusians.

Mauser would be a common styled mulusion, though he looks common for the most part, his mastery over his elements sets him apart from his peers, making him extremely rare, worthy almost, of becoming an imperial guard at the gates of the grand old Valuan Tree spires, or even better, guardian of the priestess. He would be going on a grand adventure when one of the priestesses breaks free of their hidden chains, Mauser becomes, by happenstance, and unwillingly, he guardian during the escape. It is up to them to solve the continental wars, survive the drought and its terrible harvests, the plagues that ensue, and rebalance the world they live in.

Thats a really really short taste of the story id work him into.
