The stress of all these fires, evacuations and power shutdowns has me drawing circles.... just circles. Can't seem to go beyond that. Sooo, I need to kick-start the artistic side of my brain with some requests. It won't be anything real fancy, my digital drawing program is locked away on the other side of a stable power supply... (Yay! for solar telephone chargers...) Just a pencil or ink sketch like these; dancing cats or witch or buff anthro
Ah! Thank you! They are both intriguing.
As for me, the immediate danger seems to be past, but because the power lines have sparked a few of the California wildfires, the power company shuts down the grid whenever the wind gusts over 40 knots.
The flipping Red Cross still won't accept pets into their shelters though. So our rescue centers are overwhelmed with abandoned dogs, cats, goats and even a lost horse, not to mention all of the burned wildlife... :( I need me some art to de-stress (though mindlessly stalking Freyalise does help...)
The world is pretty insane these days, sorry for what you are dealing with. :
I can offer my pet Nekhtet or for sketch subjects. Hopefully your art block gets broken and your stress lessens soon!
Your art is so wonderful! Would you consider drawing my kitty? You can draw him however you like!
Evee
Thank you if you do and please be safe!
that's awful! do you work at a shelter? i can't imagine dealing with all those animals in such stress ;; i hope additional help comes soon!
oh yes. He's so cute.
Ohh, an Egyptian themed pet. She should be fun to do.
I volunteer where I can. I work nights, so I stop by to help clean cages and feed the animals when I get off work. They are letting people return to the South Lake Tahoe area, and firefighters were apparently able to save some of the homes in Twin Bridges and Myers, though the fire is still very active. Fingers crossed!
Working on your Kotos now.
Oh good! Hope they get them under control soon. <3

Hi, I'm looking for someone to do an illustration about my comic (just one panel would be fine).
There are a few already on my blog, and I'm very open to any inspiration you may have about it.
But it would be fun to see something about him.her/it. I have no drawing skills, my writing is "ok" with a few moments of genuine inspiration.
The character is as someone might think of a "traditional" reaper, except that he's far too petite. And far too polite.
Sort of like Marvin the Martian only a bit shorter and quite elegant in his own mind.
I think it's cool, I put a lot of work into it.
If you're up to it, or have any interest, please let me know.
Thank you.
Love is all you need.
Would you be at all interested in drawing a fairy for me? I'm looking for a few over on THIS BOARD and am giving a lot of creative freedom...
Do you have a link to your comic or more info on the character and what you've done already? Certianly, I can do bug type fairys do you like the traditional butterfly and moth ones or are you open to more exotic insects?
Everyone, thank you for your patience. Things are still a little difficult at the moment and drawing helps me de-stress, but I tend to discard three sketches for every one that I'm happy enough with to photograph and post.
- I absolutely would love something more exotic than butterflies and moths! As long as it has wings...lol...
I've thought about drawing a tarantula wasp fae battling a warrior beetle fairy for a while now..., now I have a reason to get on with it!
Hi,
I actually haven't worked on it lately, but I can give a description if you're interested in just giving your interpretation on it. If you would be willing to, I'd prefer to give you some details. If you're not interested, no problem, but it would be nice to see.
I would describe him as somewhat "Reaper-ish": A black cloak that covers him (whatever "he" is), a scythe, pretty/shimmery purple eyes that are the only visible facial features within the dark recess of the top of the cloak, eyes very "active" as the most striking windows to his emotions, apparently at least.
It's impossible in the picture to determine whether he flies or walks, or both, or what he prefers, etc...almost glides in a way.
He is about 2 - 2 1/2 feet tall and has the somewhat cute and silly appearance of the old Marvin the Martian: that is to say that he acts way above his apparent strength, or lack thereof. His mannerisms seem like he's working on being formal and terrifying but is failing miserably.
He's very new to his current status, and tends to act more formally, "by the book"...sort of like he read a book on quantum physics and memorized every last detail, but when you asked a question that required actual application of that knowledge in any way he'd be a bit lost.
His scythe is only a few inches over the top of his head/hood, thin, and with the tiny version of the blade being shortened proportionally. Some intentional absurdity there.
Anyways, if you'd like to draw him, thank you in advance. If not, no problem.
Love is all you need.
I originally had her name spelled out in hieroglyphs.., but I was afraid that might violate Subeta's foreign language ban.
