Hello out there! I'd really like to take battling more seriously, and I was hoping maybe I could entreat a few pointers from more experienced folks!

Currently saving for Soma Tablets and Reviver of the Lion. Not sure if I should still be aiming for The Ice King Clawed Gloves, or set my sights on something else at this point?

Also at , aiming for the Helmet.

I can reliably get to lvl20 in BQs, but get wiped at 21.

For Scrolls right now I have

I'm not sure if Feather Explosion or Terra Focujin are helping more as the default, experimenting!

Aiming for Aftershocks and Cold Blast. Maybe Shrieks? Wasn't sure if I should grab a few Cobalts.

What weapons do you have and what is your budget? Scrolls won't be cheap, but the really good ones will get you far.

For budget I have about 100 mil in sp and 1000csc I could invest right this moment, and I can definitely set goals for more moving forwards.

As for weapons my current set looks like this:

Plus the Item Defender Shield, UltimaPlus Tag and Phoenix Quill.

For upgrades: Replace the gorgun with scientist specs Bluud Wand - potentially another healer to use when your opponent is frozen Swap out the bone dagger for Ice King Clawed Gloves

Investments: all of these can be used in an endgame set

Soma tablets from the antique shop will give you a second blast Reviver of the lion from the antique shop is a second almost full healer Blessed trident of the banished one is expensive, about 300 - 400 mil after market if you don't complete the bobblehead collection, but it scales with your pet so you can use it through multiple tiers.

Scrolls: You want to replace all the ones you have.

The aftershocks scroll is the best affordable infinite use scroll, but if that's out of your budget there is also feather explosion or triple threat.

You have enough AP to equip a ton of freezing scrolls. Cold blast can be won from opponents, but shriek of despair is good and the cheapest it's been in a long time. However you will want to buy a few of them so if that's out of your budget, defensive scrolls are your better bet. You can pick up 3-4 Cobalt eternal scrolls from the millionaire center. Sancturia exodin can be made at the shrine. Something cheap like morosbane can give you more healing until you can afford/win gift of the forj.

When rereading the post, I realized I did not specify that the freezing scrolls are only once per battle, so I thought I'd clarify that with you now just in case! :)

I've made some progress! I don't know if there IS a right answer to whether I should be using Terra Focujin or Feather Explosion while I work towards aftershocks, or if it just depends on the challenger? But I thought I would ask, if it wasn't too much trouble.

No problem - I'm very happy its been helpful!

Personally, I think Terra Focujin is a tad better because it's a lot cheaper in terms of AP (8 versus 20) while also it technically heals more at 10% compared to 7%. It's true that Feather Explosion does deal some damage and defend against physical icons, however, I think the healing is the priority here and if you can slot another scroll (or two) in those extra 12 AP you save, its likely worth it to just go for Terra Focujin.

That being said, if you're fighting some opponent that doesnt allow healing, then obvs, since Feather Explosion deals icons, its the better choice. So yeah, its still situational as are most things in Subeta Battling

Right now I've got way more AP than I do scrolls to fill it with so I've got both in the set my pet is using, but yeah, the 20AP is kind of hefty and it'll be the first to go as I start to fill in more.

I think it's best to focus on getting freezers? I don't want to spread myself too thin SP wise, just because I'm excited, haha. Better focus on one thing at a time.

Fair! I think the answer depends on how big your pet is, and how close you are to earning Aftershocks on your own.

I know it seems like its pretty expensive for a relatively marginal upgrade compared to literally adding a new freezing scroll for an extra turn of freeze, but I think it's definitely still one of the best values out there because of everything it brings to the table in one scroll that you will literally never have to replace again.

That being said, if you feel happy with the healing that Terra focujin provides and you feel that the extra freezers help you win more battles, I'm all for it. Shrieks FTW!

I honestly haven't even obtained one freezer yet! But I've been reading up and it seems like that's the smart way to lean?

Prae is struggling to beat Mama Mush right now at 43 wins, so I'm probably a long way off Aftershocks on my own, but gonna keep plugging along.

Freezers are good but theyre only one turn. I think personally I would grab Aftershocks first, then start buying Shriek of Despair until your AP is full/your sp is gone (theyre only around 12m each right now o:)
