I've almost made it to 30k RB points (total spent 60m or less) so when I ask if Ametsuchi is worth it, it's worth noting that I will not have to pay whatever Ametsuchi is really worth in sP. If it's better to just sell the points and buy other weapon upgrades, I'm up for that once I finish the RB achievements. Just wanted to check with you guys first since I (almost) have the points anyway.

sorry this is so late!! honestly, i wouldn't get ametsuchi unless you really wanted it for a collection reason (a pet tc, you really want all the legendary combos in the wardrobe or something, etc)

i'm kind of biased, but you're actually super close to the budget set i used for ages, so i wouldn't personally be in a rush to buy anything outside of freezers/blasters ^^;

here's what i'd use for a tier 8 --

and looking to the future, for a tier 9 --

some notes;

• if you have the $ for it, is a better blaster than
• don't pay for intricate energized helmet! make it! Intricate Energized Helmet
• that second set is what my tier 9 is using right now, with one exception: i have in place of i won't say the secret stuff is a must-buy since it's a little on the pricy side -- admittedly 20m doesn't look terrible to me, but it's an achievement reward for 25 wins now, and free always wins out -- but it has a very nice curse (opponent can only use 1 weapon) and scales from a 50% chance to curse at tier 9 to 75% chance to curse at tier 10 and 100% curse when you hit tier 11.

No worries! Thank you so much for both tier set suggestions and all of the fantastic advice! I definitely don't have the cash for these upgrades atm, but they will be a very good goal to work on and I'll be buying all of your suggestions as soon as I can. Nachos Secret Stuff sounds especially useful and for such an awesome curse 20m doesn't sound like a bad price tag at all!

Another question: what kind of mods are best to put on these things? I've always gone for mostly healing ones, but should I be swapping those out at this point?

I thought I'd chime in and agree with that the Ametsuchi is not really worth it for the price tag unless you want it for other reasons.

For mods, most people will choose to use crystals such as or because they can activate a blessing that protects you from freezing (and stealing, in the natural armors, case). Other popular options include the , due to its ability to give you an independent crit proc and increase your damage.

These crystals are relatively cheap and available in the battle shop so you don't have to worry too much about using them up.

I noticed you didn't list your scrolls in your first post, but I would recommend picking up if you can, as it is a multi turn healing/damaging scroll that you can use every turn.

you're welcome!! also, i didn't think about this when i posted, but since you'd be using the for a relatively short period of time, i might even go for from the battle shop instead (unless you happen to want the specs for your wardrobe or a pet treasure?), and then just focus on getting the tokens you need to make the

seconding jovi on the crystal advice!! tbh i don't use the expensive loot crystals at all because i like to wear my weapons sometimes (which means losing the mods when they're removed from the armory) and all three of those are easy to replace ^^;

[edit] omg scrolls, i forgot about scrolls!! jovi mentioned one of the best infinite use scrolls already, but i made and used (10% heal, ingredients here) for a long time while i worked up to winning my own aftershocks :D (ingredients here) is the budget one i had before holy deluge, it blocks more icons but it's only a 5% heal.

no, i mean if you already have 35 hard tokens, i would get the gorgun instead of the specs (since that's cash shop challenger loot), and then move to earning the tokens for the helmet.

they're both single-use freezers, and i believe the scientist specs has some additional damage icons and effects that the gorgun doesn't have, but depending on how close you are to tier 9 (and how long you think it would take you to collect all the tokens you need to make the helmet), i just think it might be more cost-effective to use the gorgun over the specs :0

Ahhh I see. This is my current token count. I haven't actually looked closely at what I'll need for the helmet, but hopefully I won't have far to go :)

For the scrolls, if you find the aftershocks out of your budget right now, you could craft a Check Slodge for the ingredients and how to craft It's also a multi turn healing scroll, it can help you sustain longer in battles.

Also, if you havent already, try to earn 75 wins on both Mama Mush and Daemon, to make a which is a one use per battle freezing scroll.

ooh, you're not that far off! you basically only need extremely hard tokens! it's 50 each for easy, medium, and hard tokens, and then 75 for very hard and extremely hard tokens :D

Thank you for the alternative suggestions! ^.^ I only made it to 32 wins on Daemon and 25 on Mama Mush with my current set, but maybe after making some upgrades and adding some mods, I'll be able to make it to 75 each.

Thank you again, that thread was super helpful! I've now added a lot of those scrolls to my WL to upgrade my set later.

After upgrading my weapon set to jensen's suggestions and adding your suggested crystals to everything + making a Holy Deluge Scroll, I've managed to make it to 56 kills on Mama Mush. I'm really struggling to get more kills though, so it's feeling unlikely that I'll make it to 75 before upgrading my sets further.
