Privacy for Comments

It has bothered me since I joined Subeta 9 and a half years ago that there is no apparent way to make my comments private. I don't want any of them to show up on anyone's feed. It is an invasion of privacy to me that any besides the intended person can read them. Could there be a setting or whatever to prevent this (other than to not leave one)?

I know and I use the smails, esp when it gets really long or absolutely must be private. I just wanted to know if we could simply have a setting on our dashboard that would make our comments NOT show up on everyone's feed. Just to have the choice would be awesome.
Ahh so this is really a feed issue. I've got a spec for changing how feeds work (and using a service for them instead of writing them ourselves) and I'll make sure that privacy options are included.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know (if I'm understanding correctly) this feature does exist! At some point this which is options to change what privacy of your actions show up on the feed had it's link removed from the friend feed page.
even created a thread earlier this month mentioning that the link had been removed and a few people posted to support it being returned.
I too would love to have a privacy option availabe.

Wow, I had no idea that page was still around! Added it back to the top options for the page, and made a change log entry.
