Unfortunately, I don't think creating a new thread actually counts towards your post count :( However, have you checked out the user-run games forum? I think there's also a similar sub-forum in the GA forum section. You should have no problem hitting your post count with those :) Good luck!

Any forum post (except created threads) should count! I don't think that comments on like, news posts or user profiles do. I definitely second the suggestion of using the user-run forum games to help get to the required number of posts; they're low-effort, and they move pretty fast.

I know responding to other threads helps to get more posts for the bluebuilding quests.
