I've been around Subeta less than a month, and already my primary form of income has become restocking. For me, there's certain shops I already feel comfortable staking out, where I know the items I can make an easy 15k-30k profit on. But I'm curious about everyone else's approach.

What shops do you restock in? How do you learn which items you want to target for restocks?

One method I've been toying with is putting a common word (like "plushie", "sandwich" or "bloodred") into shop search and refreshing to find items that are cheaper in the restocking stores than user shops.

I've only been restocking for maybe a month so I am definitely not an expert! My method is to pick a shop and look up all of the items that restock there on SubetaLodge so I can get familiar with them. I order them by user shop price highest to lowest so I know what's most worth restocking. Then, since restocking times are so predictable, I just refresh the shop page when it restocks and grab the items I know are worth it! Personally, I like restocking shops that don't have a ton of the same items in different colors, because I never remember which colors of what are rare. :)

A useful resource for me is the Subetalodge fansite. It makes it very easy to sort for items from a specific store that are above a certain rarity, so if I see them in stock I can grab them. Or I keep the Subetalodge page open and periodically click the link to the shop search for a bunch of items.

That being said, I'm mainly focusing on r99 items right now for the achievement, so this technique doesn't work as well for more common, but still valuable, items.

- I've actually got the opposite approach. I like shops like the Atebus shop where there's many colors of, for example, the bunny plushie and the sodas and the UFOs, because I know if I find myself surprised by a color I don't see regularly (omg, there's a black version of that bunny???), it's likely much rarer and I know I should snag it.

Right now my top shops (in terms of familiarity, at least) are; Apocalyptic Apothecary (always grab the Pylonics when I see them, they sell well) Grooming Parlor Half Baked Atebus Shop Icy Goods

I'm working on the Bake Shop, Get Mugged and the Food Market as well.

I use SubetaLodge for an initial price check, just like others have said. If the list of worthwhile items is far too large to learn that way, I sometimes buy one of every item and check their prices. This puts my mind into action with an active "reward/punishment" routine rather than just trying to memorise tens of images and names.

Here's my restock list: — Apocalyptic Apothecary — Spells Galore — Weapons Warehouse — Defend and Conquer — Seedlings — Book Nook

Spells Galore is my favourite. It has few high rollers, but you can get good value out of it VERY often. There's something to buy nearly every restock, and some decent profits are hidden even in low-rarity stuff. I also just like the shop's theme and all the animal-themed wearables. It's pure fun for me!

Apocalyptic Apothecary comes second. It has pylonics (as previously mentioned), stat boosters, potions, and elixirs. Many elixirs sell for a small profit margin, but the 15% main shop discount buff is surprisingly effective at amplifying those into being worth grabbing.

Defend and Conquer and Seedlings go in third for having a lot of dead time and being less profitable than the remaining ones. They make up for this by being relaxing to learn and use, so even if the small list of valuables is hard to learn, you have plenty of time to price check anything unfamiliar. Speaking of Seedlings in particular, you will find a few low-rarity items that have a great profit margin (and no, I don't mean the skirt that recently got hyper-inflated, though that as well).

Weapons Warehouse in fourth for being much like the previous two but faster and with a GIGANTIC list of profitable items. Spotting what's valuable shouldn't be hard after a bit. What's difficult is actually snagging it! I'm sometimes surprised by quick competition in this shop.

Book Nook is last. This is the newest shop on my restock list, so its position may change. It has an insane amount of items in stock, making learning what's worthwhile difficult. It DOES have a reasonable profit margin on the vast majority of items, so you can use the aforementioned "reward/punishment" routine with very little loss, if any. However, this also means you quickly clog up your shops with stocking all the different books you've picked up.

Actually, I might be in good shape for reward/punishment for Book Nook, being so new. I can certainly consume unprofitable books by reading them to my relatively uneducated young pets. That's part of why I've been favoring food stores; I have one pet not in the resort who I can feed eeeeverything to for the first time.

Same for me, really. Not only do pets other than my main currently have only the bare minimum read books to keep being promoted at their jobs, but my account is also younger than yours.

My "starter" shop for restocking was Trading Card Center, and from there I've branched out to Spells Galore, Food Market, and Book Nook. And seconding Spells Galore - I love restocking there!

What I do is frequently scan or browse through a particular shop to learn the regular inventory. Then I start to pick out the "special" or "odd" items that would pop up, and familiarize myself with the nearby items, so next time I go to the shop I would immediately scroll to those specific "normal" items to see if the special ones are there too.

It's fairly time consuming and requires a lot of trial-and-error clicking to figure out the expensive/high value items, but so far this has worked for me, lol.

Yes, that's an important point I forgot to mention. Visual memory imprint of where on the page each item spawns is golden. Messes me up whenever I swap from the PC to the phone. Damn resolution changes!

On that note, take advantage of the 5-second purchase cooldown timer to do shop skimming. If you use backspace to come out of a purchase (which you should since it keeps your spot on the page) of a multi-stocked item, do a quick scroll wheel up-down/page up-down to see if there's anything better to buy. If there is nothing or you spotted nothing, go back to the item and buy another copy. Repeat until done.

You definitely explained it far better and more succinct than me 😆

I actually never even knew about the backspace bit and I've been on this site for years. Good tip, thanks!

No problem! It's general browser wizardry rather than something specific to the website, but it's of unique importance here. Backspace literally takes you back to the previous page, whereas pressing a button to load the shop page is technically loading a new page.

Oh, another tip: For anyone who does questing, I would pay attention to the items being asked, especially if they cost more than 20k in user shops. If said item happens to be stocked in a main shop and has multiple copies, buy them all and stick them in your own shop. Chances are, someone is gonna have to buy it for a quest too.

- Very true and part of the reason I always make a point of Saggitarius's quests.

I've actually hit a wall with restocking and I'm really confused if I'm just pricing everything at the wrong times or something.

I used to get most of my sP from restocking, but this past week or so I've noticed a major plummet in sales for some reason. I was actually coming to the forums to look and see if anyone else noticed a dip, but I guess it's just me. lol.

It's not that the items are dropping in price too rapidly or anything. Because often times I go to reprice everything, and the prices haven't really changed at all. It's just odd because a couple weeks prior, it was business as usual, and I was still selling most of my supply before I restocked the following day. Now I feel like I'm just piling up items in my shop because I'm only making one sale a day, and I'm really confused about what I'm doing wrong. XD

I haven't sold as much since the end of the Quest-a-thon. I'm guessing that people did every quest they could during the event but are now only doing the ones they prefer.

I didn't even think about that! You're probably spot on. I completely brain farted the whole event. Go me.

That's always been my main way of restocking. I do quests and whenever asked for items show a decent profit and there are multiple in stock I pick up as many as I can.

Also, items are currently still artificially inflated right now because of QaT. I;m still mostly maxing questing because I got in the groove during QaT and just stayed there. This means I'm seeing really unusual prices, so I'm guessing it will take a few more weeks for the prices to drop and people being willing to spend the more typical questing amounts.

Oh yeah! I'm so ready for the bounce back. Because going entire days with no sales is KILLING my income. Ha ha. It's no worry though, with quests for some income, so it isn't too terrible. I usually max out the ones I can as often as possible just for a little extra sP for wearables for my HA. I really need to stop distracting myself with that and stay focused on saving. I'll get there! I just have to hold off on buying the potions I want for my last two pets until it picks back up. Very excited for that! Just gotta be patient is all.
