i've had a bit of a rough few months, especially last month. i don't really want to talk about the past, but focus on life going forward. part of my recovery is supposed to be dedicated toward finding communities that are more supportive of people my age, as most of the people i've been talking to online and offline have been years older.

soooo i've wandered over to subeta. c: i've heard people describe this site as a positive combination of what people like from other avatar, forum, and pet communities, though i haven't really used those sites, either. this is my first venture outside of spaces that are more live chatty.

some things about me! -i'm kat, as established in the subject -i'm 15, female, in the southern US! -i have a dog and two cats c: -i like playing brawlhalla, it's one of the few things i can enjoy without caring about being good at it! -i like a lot of different music, but don't ask me to name a band or song title! -i'm interested in subjects like psychology, human, and animal medicine, crime -i watch a lot of hulu, netflix, amazon video.

Forums are quite a different experience from instant messaging. It is one I grew up with, fondly remember, and even more fondly revive now. There's a certain charm to writing or seeing a well-formulated post, and also anticipation in seeing replies to yours and others'. This medium doesn't have to take more care than writing instant messages does, but it does benefit a lot from that extra effort.

You have a dog and two cats, huh? Do they get along well? If yes, were they raised together from a young age? I've never owned a cat, but I own a grumpy, old dog who is very hostile towards cats, so I'm always curious as to how people reach such harmony between the two species.

my older cat is probably ten years old now, and the younger maybe four? the younger cat is an instigator, for sure! and i have to be careful because my dog has a high prey drive and any time the cats move he snaps to attention. he goes with me a lot of places and i crate him when i'm not at home to watch over him.

I appreciate the honesty of your post, it was super refreshing. <3 I feel the same way (or did, I'm much older now) 'cause I'd be super young and always chatting with people who were so much older, and I'd hear a lot of "well you're young so you don't understand" and it used to drive me NUTS.
