do Gold accounts get extra renames? does the weekly count reset after 7 days, or on the next sunday/monday? i'm new and one of my pets got swallowed by the rift. I didn't know it would come back so I made another... now i'm stuck with two pets with the same name for a little while lol.

Haha, I did the exact same thing! Since I activated Gold recently, I can tell you what my page says:

You really shouldn't be able to have two pets with the same name. This was a bug that I thought was fixed many months ago.

Anyhow this FAQ about Legacy Names/Non-Unique Pet Names has a bunch of info about pet name changes,

You can still create pets with the same name via the rift, but also via Isaac, if you want to make a bug report about it.

I thought you got one pet rename per week?

One pet rename per week for non-GA accounts, and you can rename each pet once per month with a GA
