If you didn't read at least one Eric Carle's picture books as a little kid, I will be very surprised.

Awww, Norton Juster and Eric Carles both died in the same year. My parents never bought the Very Hungry Caterpillar for me when I was a kid, but I do remember school reading times where the teacher read it to our class when I was in Kindergarten. Also, might of checked it out from the local public library at one point too because I went to the library a ton when I was younger.
