I was thinking, and I've seen a lot of people rehoming their spotlight winners. It's great that they won the spotlight to begin with, but that means when whoever adopts them, they've basically resigned to not winning the spotlight with their new pet.
So I thought... What if when a pet is rehomed or abandoned, the spotlight trophy disappears? So whoever gets the pet next has an opportunity to win the spotlight again with them.
I figure they could add that the spotlight trophy would disappear on the page where you go to abandon, same as it does with the treasure chest. And perhaps a message when transferring a pet via the "give to a friend" option as well.
What do you think?
ive turned down adoption opportunities because of an existing spotlight trophy (I like to win them myself) so I would like to see some kinda solution for this problem!
I like this idea! And removing a pet spotlight trophy could also be implemented via the bathhouse. Similar to how they have the legacy name removal dip option : D
Agreed--honestly it'd make more sense for pet spotlight trophies to be tied to your account and not the pet, anyway. I'd love for the trophies to still display on a pet's profile, and then have a trophy appear on your user profile (with the number of wins indicated). That way, the user is still recognized for the work they put into the pet, regardless of if they adopt it out or not.
I support this, as long as it's a manual removal, not automatic.
There is a pet I adopted, who won spotlight last year that I adopted recently, and I'd love to enter them eventually for spotlight, and it sucks that I can.
However, one of the reasons I've adopted another pet is because she won the spotlight on a very specific date, and it would suck if I lost on the exact reason why I adopted her.
So yeah, make it an option.
