had a thought earlier... what would y'all think of a button that we could get that would allow us to liquidate our entire account.

every item that has a price - wearables, stuff we have hidden in our vaults, shop stuff, collections - everything you own that is available in shops is taken away and replaced with the sP equivalent.

so for example, if an item you have isn't available in user shops, it won't take it, because there isn't an sP worth to place on it. and it won't take CWs or collection items either. but everything else is gone. zoop. disappeared. clean slate on everything else.

and the button to liquidize takes like four prompts before it does it, so there's no risk of accidentally pressing it. but you can only do it once a year.

would you do it?

That would cause massive inflation, which isn't really a good thing.

EDIT: You know, I actually went and looked at my gallery, which has...well, everything cute I like and have hoarded, and a lot of these items are worth way way less than lower shop price. Or, I paid much lower than the inflated price, because I had them for so long

Not really. I mean in theory it would help those wanting to just get rid of all they have but in all honesty... there's many other ways to do that. Plus I dunno how hard it might be on the servers?

What would be the point? Just to start from scratch or an easy way to delete your account? Either way, you have options to do that without said button.

I wouldn't trust it, personally. I've had much small transactions go wrong because the site had a minor hiccup. I can't imagine how much I might end up losing if the site had one bad moment in the middle of this process.

1. There are many, many items up for sale in user shops that are super overpriced. They just sit there forever.
2. People misprice things all the time - CSC, for example going in shop for say 10 sP because of a typo. So you hit the button at the wrong time and you get 10 sP for your CSC instead of 10M sP.
3. You have to be very, very careful of actual glitches and overwhelming the servers. Right now you can't remove anything in your shops in stacks greater than 100 items because the site tends to "lose" stuff if done in bigger batches.
4. Collections - if you can't remove an item from a collection, like plushies, something like this shouldn't do it either.
5. Books read, food eaten, toys played with, I'm assuming you don't intend that these used up items "get sold"?
6. I have been here a very, very long time. I first started playing when everything was unlimted. I own 100s of thousands of items - I think trying to do this with my account would literally explode the site and generate more sP than an account can hold. And yes that can happen, there is an upper limit on how much sP can be on an account. This used to explode an account, though I'm told now that while its still bad, its not as bad as it used to be.

It feels a little like cheating. You get rid of all your cheap junk with a single button press, get a bunch sP with no work at all, while keeping all those super-expensive unpriceable, unbuyable, extremely rare items.

All that said, I wouldn't mind if there was a start from scratch option. There are many things I would do differently if I started a new account today (with what I know now). But this should be the completely nuclear option - everything goes, from CWs, CSC, unbuyables, pets, achievements, literally delete your current account and start a new one. NO transferring your favorite pet or items to friends to give back to you once you start your new account! I would make very strict rules for this kind of account if I even allowed it!

I remember that when Subeta had the Account Worth page, it frequently wasn't all that reliable. It would miss items or miscalculate the worth of things. That said, I doubt a liquidate account button would be reliable, too.

I also doubt that a lot of users would make use of this. There doesn't need to be such a specific, potentially server-intensive feature built into the site.

I can think of dozens of ways this could go wrong/bad and only maybe-kinda-sorta one option where it could be slightly useful to a very small number of users.

that honestly sounds like a horrible idea- i've had CWs auto-price for 450 SP before due to some sort of issue with the way it finds the lowest shop price. it's a no from me.

Just reading the title of this thread gave me the fear, no support for all the ways this could go wrong and impact the already sketchy economy.

No please. theres no way to tell actual items value from guessing, especially cws.
