Wasn't sure where to post this within suggestions, but...
Does anyone else feel like lines hang around for too long in subeautique? It's exciting in the beginning to find new items in subeautique but inevitably they all end up being worth ~500k or less. I guess it's asking for more work from the team to have stuff retire faster and have new lines more frequently, but if it's possible I think it would really help keep subeautique fresh. Maybe there could just be fewer lines out at once?
Feel free to counter, of course
I don't see the need to prop up the value of Subeautique items? Nobody has to buy things from there.
If Subeta-sponsored price-supports in the face of user actions are necessary or fun there is an alternate. A solution that doesn't require Subeta to spend more money and possibly overload the artists we do have. Make Subeautique Invitations much harder to come by.
Lower the rate they drop as an RE, and remove them from the Bathhouse.
I'd like to know what people are doing to get so many invites. Btw, 500k isn't that cheap.
Just leave it as is. Not all users have as much time to spend on site and reducing invites or reducing the time a set is available seems unfair to them. The site should not try to keep pace with the most active users.
The price of an Invite, if you were to buy it, is tracked on the fansite SubetaLodge. If you add in the cost to buy it from Subeautique once you have that Invite then 500KsP is cheap...for Subeautique. That it 'is this cheap' only matters to speculators and re-sellers.
Like I said before there's no reason any user to need to buy anything from there. Not every RE has to be a huge windfall to any user.
I agree with that some users rack up lots of play time and get lots of Invites. This is a change from when Subeautique was like any other restocking shop where fast-twitch users or wealthy users that could afford the wholesale cost got priority. These folks charged a lot for the items that only they had, even though they could have a lot of them.
The intercessory nature of the Invite was meant to make it so the fast-twitch and wealthy users could not hog all the items. The economics of scarcity still apply though. If the Invites drop at a lower rate then users who have 'normal' amounts of Subeta playtime will have a hard time getting all the items if the time the items are out is shortened. Shortening the time places them hostage to predatory pricing by users who play a lot.
So the real issue is: how rare and exclusive are Subeautique items meant to be? How rare and exclusive do we need them to be to have the fun of owning them or completing the Achievements? The stronger that Subeta makes the rareness/exclusiveness, there will be increased inequalities. It's the nature of a cartel in a capitalist system.
I remember paying 20MsP for a Rainyday Frost Headpiece back in the day, it was super-popular.
I'm only guessing at the OP, but it seems like for something that's, in game, touted as a "High-end boutique", the value of the items drop.
But I think it's all about the context of the game. For a NPC shop, the 180k or so for an item after 300k for an invitation is still much more than a normal NPC clothing shop.
It's basically doing what it's designed to in game context..
Alright, I see what some of you are saying. I do want to say though, that I'm not at all an active user (I work a 9-5, have many other interests, and sometimes don't log in for over a month) and I still have come by every subeatique item and always have enough to buy them (and I don't buy CSC). I just wanted to know if anyone else felt it would be more fun to have an increase in rarity, because that's something I enjoy. I don't mind if more active users have rarer stuff either; I mean, it kind of makes sense for that would happen. If anything it's more fair to have people get more for the time they put in. Anyway, if I'm alone in this then obviously it should stay the same lol
i don't want it to get harder and more expensive to buy Subeautique items. i would prefer if everyone has an easy time getting them and i don't mind the deflation on the items. i still remember the days when it was really hard to get the items and that was not a good time. even as an active player, i was only able to get a few items from the shop if i was lucky or pay in the millions for 1 item.
I don't want it to get harder in any sense! I just want the newest lines to have a higher random possibility to get them over the older lines, at least for a few weeks or something. There really are way too many at once in there and I keep seeing the same old ones over and over with no chance of getting the new ones because of so many of the old. Sigh
