I managed to have a duel once out of the now... 60? plus (I may be underestimating) dances I've had in this event, despite making an effort to go to the ballroom page once for the majority of these dances, but I've only ever had the event once. Is it normally this rare, or am I not loading the pages fully, or has the event been removed, or am I doing something else wrong?

I don't mind if it's just rare but I'd like to know if I don't really have to click through every single dance notification I get hoping to be lucky. Note that I do not recall the event showing up for me in any Masquerade of previous years, though for most of them I didn't even know to look.

It's pretty rare! I believe you can get it from going through a bunch of stacked up events though, its not just the most recent :)

i usually go through my stacked events but be careful! if you open multiple tabs and get multiple events, only one will work!

I get one per day? I find loading the dancefloor fun because I can see other user's dancing costumes, so I do that anyways. If the download times is bugging you the reward isn't huge compared to what you can get from Mystery Dances.

Yes there have been years when Boudewijn does a lot of challenges and I agrree he works like floaters in that only one can be active at a time and this can work against you. Chrome's spinny wheel just to the left of the search bar is pretty good at alerting me if the page is done loading otherwise it can be hard to tell.

I have done a lot of dancing and I'd estimate that I find Boudewijn roughly every 40 or so dances on average? It's been very variable though, a few days ago he popped up about every fifth dance for a while, and then I didn't see him at all for about two days straight; I wondered at the time if a staff member had been tweaking the odds. Anyway it sounds like you might have been slightly unlucky not to encounter him in 60+ dances but not improbably so.

I've checked every dance and have seen him maybe 4-5 times this year. I've done ~270 dances for a contest and plenty of mystery dances. I'm not complaining, but I might stop bothering. x) The odds are much lower than usual, but to be fair, the mystery dance prizes more than make up for it (perhaps too well).

Good to know, thanks everyone! It sounds like the odds are just pretty low this year, so I probably won't go out of my way for it, since there's Mystery Dances anyway. Unless there are special items only Boudewijn gives out, it's probably not worth it for me.
