There was already a suggestion long ago for the base images provided for CW artists to be available in multiple skin tones, and I second that!
I'd also love to see full-size, transparent BG bases for all the HA variations with the limbs removed, as well as updated full-size bases with the new, thinner lineart.
I've been working on a few limb mods lately, and it can be difficult to make sure that my CW limbs match up exactly with the base as it will be seen on site. With something like a new arm pose or leg pose, even an error of a pixel or two can be obvious in the wardrobe if my lineart doesn't line up perfectly with that of the base. Because limbs aren't removable on the CW submission preview, an error like this wouldn't be obvious to the CW queue manager, either.
yes, please! i don't even know where to find a full-size image of a HA base period. i swear there used to be one on the CW submission page but i don't see it anymore? i was thinking it must be a bit of a pain to try to design any body mods without a full-size base with the missing limbs available. there should be one with all the limbs removed as you suggested! and other skin tones would be very helpful too!
as it is now there don't seem to be any high quality resource images for people to start with, which (for me at least) is very off-putting for getting into making CWs. i'm sure there's something useful buried in some random forum thread somewhere, but i think these things should be easily available and obvious on the official CW releaser hub page.
Large size bases in the Base 1 skintone are available, but kind of hidden on the Intro to Custom Wearables page - they are in the first bullet point under How Do I Create a CW? I feel like we've had a lot of improvement since v2 was implemented, but it's still not always obvious where to find information or resources.
Thanks for the support on my suggestion. ^_^
I just started making CWs and I agree, it is lame to have to make my own bases for darker skin tones.
I also wonder if on-site artists aren't using darker bases either, because of the items that have been released in the past where certain pixel errors show up on only darker bases.
